Well the other day I pulled the engine out because I though I spun a bearing. After I pulled out the balance shafts I found that I did do just that. For the kind of shaking I was experiencing it seemed a bit odd though. Well basically last night I was getting some measurements on the crank when I noticed it moved! The piece of shit had broken into 2!!?!?!?! It looks like it just shattered under stress? I have some pictures I will have up in a day or 2. Anybody Know what might have caused something like that? I’m basically stock.

Your crank broke into 2 pieces!? That's crazy! You have a 6-bolt or a 7-bolt?

"The Crank
The crank is one of the strongest parts of your typical import engine. Most import engines have forged crankshafts, as opposed to the cast cranks found in most domestics. Like forged pistons, forged cranks have superior grain orientation and grain refinement from the forging process. On popular import engines, the crank is one of the parts that needs the least amount of work to ready it for even the most extreme use. Stock prepped Honda B and H series, Mitsubishi 4G63, Toyota 3SG and Nissan SR20DE and VG30DE cranks have supported upwards of 600 turbocharged hp, without failure, time and time again. So strong are some of these stock cranks that they have withstood use in SCCA GT class road racing as well as turbocharged IMSA GTO and GTP racing cars!"

You're one abusive mofo to be able to break a crank.

It was a 6 bolt crank!!! i dont understand because im not really to hard on my car either? I drive it a lot though. I did notice that at higher rpm's it seemed like something was wrong because it was hesitant to accelerate. Must have been a crack that worked itself through.

I would imagine that the crank was defective in the first place, everyone that races hard core still use the stock crank, and were talking 800 horse,

trannys break, not cranks.
