okay, I've seen quafie(sp) front and center differentials,
and i've seen a b&M front diff upgrade. (to metal blocks with springs) I know what a limited slip does, but i'm confused on awd drives.. Am i correct to assume , that a front diff only affects the the front wheels, and a center diff only affects the rear wheels? where is the center dif located? is it in the tranny, or the rear end, what's a four bolt rear end?, is it the pumpkin, , if the center dif is in the rear end , would upgrading that to a 4 spider, be the same as a 4 bolt? please someone, I have no clue... thanks -------------------- I sold my dsm, and all the parts...I bought a 300z that ran a 15 sec quarter at 91 mph...this sucks.

the front and center diffs are in the transmission case. the rear is of course the pumpkin.
the front affects the split between right and left front tires, the rear between the right and left rear tires, and the center affects the split between the front and rear. a four bolt rear end refers to the stronger and more preferred rear end housing (pumpkin) _and_ axles. Same gearing, just stronger. -------------------- my cars breath smells like car food
