Well, we were able to locate that retainer for the rear main seal, but unfortunately, our flywheel was machined wrong and it's not going to work out.

If anyone has a 6 bolt FWD flywheel, we'd be grateful.

PLEASE email me if you've got one to spare!! Thanks!!!

Completing the 6 bolt swap out of my bro's 2g and we're missing this part!

Please help give us a hand and sell it!!! We'll pay and make it worth your time!!

It's that retainer piece that surrounds the rear main seal and bolts to the block!

Thanks!

Jason

Hey Guys,

I've recently got my rebuilt head(bent valves) back from the machine shop for the Laser and threw it back on my block. Before, I tighten down the head bolts, I was messing with the cam sprockets to make sure they line up at TDC. However, it appears that the TDC lines on the cam sprockets do not line up exactly right. The exhaust side is about one half tooth off from the intake side.

I realize this is all with the timing belt completely off. I guess my question is, is this normal? Will the lines match up after I wrench/turn the sprocket so that the lines match up, and then have the timing belt hold that mark in place, even though thenatural tension of the sprockets has the lines pulling away from eachother at half a tooth?

Thanks in advance! I've not done a timing belt before, and I want to make sure everything is okay.

Hey Guys,

Just wanna say hey! I've belonged to the Yahoo sit for awhile now, but really hadn't done any posting or anything as I really ran a different platform for the most part (420a), and I'm in Springfield.

But I've recently picked up a 1g with the 6 bolt engine/ 4 bolt rear end that had a skipped timing belt. I took the head off and have about 10 bent valves. So once I get the valves switched in, I can slap the head back on, do the timing belt and be on the road with some AWD power! smile.gif

Anyways, down in Springfield, there's a pretty decent sized group of us who run DSM's and we should all hook up some time!

Later!
