Alright guys, I'm over at school (Purdue) and they've decided to start a how-stuff-works class and they asked me to teach it. This is for sophomore level mechanical engineers so we're going over some basic stuff that'll relate to core course work. So far we've taken apart a door knob and dead bolt, a hand mixer and an RC airplane motor. We're still looking for some more ideas so I threw out the idea of turbos, considering that pretty much all of these students are taking thermodynamics 1 right now (a lot of analyzing turbines and compressors as well as a little bit of finned cooling - intercoolers). Well I got the ok to go ahead on this so now I'm trying to collect turbos.

I'm looking for 10-11 turbos that don't have to be in the best shape but just need all of the parts that go with them. So if everyone went out and grabbed their old, blown 14b's I'd be in great shape (I would like them to all be the same model if possible). I've already posted in the WTB section of the exchange just in case but I thought I'd explain a little bit more in here.

I've got the ok to do this from the ME department but my budget is still pretty low and we still need to buy other supplies for more presentations. So if I could get a collection of turbos with blown seals for $10 a piece, I'd be pretty happy.

So post up here if you have one that you're willing to donate or sell that is in a decent enough condition for people to play around with. I am going to see if I can get ahold of enough turbos before I start buying though.

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

My parents are moving and therefore most of my older DSM stuff is getting tossed without my permission. The one thing that the trash guy wouldn't take however is my old stock swaybar. It's off of a 94 GSX. It's free if anyone wants it. Email me at elonn@purdue.edu, I check it a couple times a day. I'm giving you guys first dibs, if for some reason you'd want it, before I find a dumpster to toss it in.

Well I kinda made it available at the beginning of the summer but now it needs to get sold.

130,xxx miles on her, driven daily by my sister on the interstate to work for 4 years. She autocrossed it once so it has just a few small parts on it: Magnacore race wires, rear sway bar, slotted rotors, 2g shift knob. The car is in GREAT shape and runs extremely well, I believe I own the world's worst running DSM and I believe this is the best running one I've ever had the pleasure of driving. The paint is great, no rust on the body at all. The turbo has ZERO shaft play.

This can be yours for $4000 obo. Pictures can be had by request.
