Would the Jet chip and K&N fit on a 97 dakota with the 5.2? What kind of performance increase do you get with the chip? I might be interested in those and the haynes manual....

both the k&N and the jet chip work for the 5.2 dakota.

the jet chip simply changes your shift points if you are automatic,
makes your spark hotter,
advances your spark timing,
changes your fuel curve

i am not certain of the acual horsepower gains, but it makes a difference that is feelable.
the gains are magnified if you change to a 180 degree thermostat
the changing of the thermostat are also recomended by Jet.

the K&N just drops in place where your stock element was.
