Having skipped dinner with my DSM tonight we found ourselves on the prowl looking for some lunch. The more my co-pilot and I hunted for prey, the more we hungered for a proper meal.

Our night’s efforts yielded only an appetizer at first (I’ll go into that one later). Suffice it to say though that the taste that early race offered only piqued our hunger.

Our exhaust frothing at the mouth our little Laser slavered for bigger tidbits. Fortunately the dinner bell (my cell phone) rang just in time. Following the dinner bell to a local restaurant we spotted our prey, an AWD Eagle.

Despite the imminent act of cannibalism we decided to make the attempt to dine upon the endangered fowl and make ourselves a meal of the AWD.

Following the Eagle as it flew the coop we stalked it on its flight across town. The ordinarily prerequisite game of cat and mouse proved unnecessary against this Eagle. Apparently deeming itself no easy meal this predator was game to put up a fight. Finally we reached an appropriate stretch of road to test our legs against its wings.

Lining up our Laser’s stomach began to grumble. On it’s agreed upon third evocation we both went. Tires squealing like a pig on the way to the slop trough our little beater Laser launched. Looking quickly for our meal it was no where to be spotted… until we looked back.

Running out first with a bit of shimmy to our car’s hindquarters (AWD torquesteer) we showed the Eagle our tail. However, our prey was not so easily made a meal of. Second showed minimal ground gained. Third pulled not at all and for a moment I feared the Eagle would fly away with the prize if we were to run out 4th and into fifth. Fortunately for our beater’s ego (which was in dire need of feeding), an abrupt rise and the possibility of oncoming called a halt to the chase.

Although I’m hoping for another chance to run down this prey, for tonite I’ll say that although we might have missed dinner, at least we weren’t late to launch.

Hehhehe, I was wondering how long it'd take you to notice.

Personally I think that Talon would have eaten me if we'd even had a chance to run out fourth.
