ok i am having another problem with my car. while cruising at the same speed, my auto meter boost gauge is reading about 5-10 vacuum. ive been told it should usually be between 15-20. well today, it started to make a hissing sound like air escaping and was running about 5-7 vacuum. the noise seemed to be coming from in the engine in front of the driver seat.
is this my wastegate gone bad? any advice would be great.
i have a mitsu 12a turbo and was wondering if the wastegate off it would work on the 14b. otherwise im gonna need to buy a new 14b wastegate.

Sounds more like a vaccum leak... check those vaccum lines and make sure nothing's cracked or melted.

I have a used 14b wastegate but that is not your problem. It sounds like you have a vaccum leak somewhere. With the engine running check your line under the hood. The first one to check is one going to the boost gauge.

Replace the line. Tape'll blow the first time you build boost.

You can get vaccum line of just about any size at napa, advanced, or autozone.
