After a sorry showing with the 1.8 liter Yugo-Eating Eclipse, I decided that I needed a rematch with a certain 3000GT, and thought that my Laser might be a little better competition.

So tonight I decided to stretch the legs on my Laser, since it has been a while since she has been out running. I go up to Steak n Shake and meet up with some friends, and we decide to go up to check out some cars at a dealership.
We leave towards the interstate, me following the VR-4. He decides to get on it a little bit, I do the same. I do not catch up. As we get on the interstate, he punches it again. Once again, my little ankle-biter will not catch up at these high speeds, even from a roll.
As we exit the interstate towards the dealership, I pick a lane alongside the VR-4 and we cruise a bit. As we near the peak of a bridge, I look over and notice a lurch in the VR-4 and I assume he has put the car in a lower gear. At 40mph, I decide to do the same, and I slam it into second. I look over at my partner in crime, and mash the gas without warning. My mostly stock Laser pulls hard, much harder than I expect as my 14b spools quickly and my car lunges forward. I look in my sidemirror and see one familiar headlight in it...look back at the road....glance back at the sidemirror again a couple seconds later and much to my suprise, the light is still there. I am pleased with my car and I put my eyes back on the road, but then out of the corner of my eye I notice that I can no longer see a headlight in my sidemirror.
A quick glance towards my rear window shows the missing headlight, closing in for the kill on me. I continue on hard as I see the Mitsubishi front end in my passanger window, and as I see the nose pull a few inches in front of me. I have been caught, passed, and killed. We both hit the breaks, avoiding the car stopped at the light a ways in front of us.
We put along to the dealership, doing a couple under the speedlimit, and me keeping my car in a low gear to completely avoid another ass-reaming. We pull into the dealership, and I exclaim my happiness in the fact that my car pulled at all. I recieve mixed looks from the other pilot and co-pilot, and I laugh again, admitting that it would have never happened if I hadn't jumped him from the roll. They are glad that I admitt it, and we soon return home. Overall, I had my dinner not only stolen from me, but eaten right in front of me as I sat with an empty stomach. Luckily for me though, I turned down anything from a stop, to avoid having my dessert eaten as well.

Overall, notch 1 up for TooFast4Rader.

and nobody cares. this was my first kill story too I believe, and it wasn't even my kill. I need moral support dammit!

agree'd, very good write up, good story and maybe after a few upgrades, you can show those 3000GT's who's top $h1t.

I have a couple plans for the car, which will HOPEFULLY work out (I'm getting a couple great deals on parts, but I'm just hoping it falls through at this point). If everything goes as planned, from a roll stock VR-4s should be in my rearview soon
