Read I realize that this had nothing to do with street racing or speeding, or not wearing your seatbelt, but I worked with this guy for almost 3 years. Head on crash at 55. Just imagine what would happen if you're doing 140 and hit someone doing 55....
Please be smart, don't risk other's lives. This guy left behind 4 kids.
All the more reason to get a local track built.

I'm sorry to hear that...
That crosses my mind every other day. You hand your life over to chance anytime you get into a moving vehicle. Taking it easy is a good idea, but the reality is there no matter what your doing. Defensive driving and anticipation of others driving is a bout the best a person can humanly do.
The real message hear should be don't drive if your too tired or drunk. That's when we don't have a good enough grasp on our senses to drive correctly.

I try to drive in a respectable manner 95% of the time but no matter what there will always be some idiot, drunk, etc. that fails to regard anyone elses life.

My point is to be senseable about how you drive. Think, don't just do. Just becasue that honduh boy is calling you a chicken doesn't make it right to fly through a residential neighborhood at 50. I think most of us here understand that concept, but sometimes life has a way of giving us a smack in the face to remind us anyway.

If this is the wreck that I think that you are talking about, a co-worker of mine was just a few cars back from the wreck when it happened, he said it looked like she tried to pass somebody didn't have the room and hit the guy that you know.
it just goes to show how fast things can happen, even at the constantly complained about slow speed limit of 55.
my best wishes for the people who know someone involved in that wreck, or in any bad wreck like it....

Man, you always hate to hear of this stuff happening no matter what. But it is really funny how it will grab your attention that much more when it is someone close to you or even just someone you know. Our sympathy is with the friends and family of all involved.
