Are there any differences in the FWD and AWD aftermarket struts? Reason I'm asking is a guy wants to sell some KYBs to me but they are FWD. There are no springs on them because I'm putting my Intrax ones on. Will there be a difference when trying to put aftermarket FWD struts on an AWD car? Sorry, I'm not the most educated guy when it comes to suspension. Thanks

The rears mount differently I belive... I'm 99% sure they are different regardless.

I'm pretty sure Rob is right. Its been a while since I had my fwd, but I'm pretty sure the rear struts mount differently. I'm positive the lower chassis mount is different on the car itself. I just can't remember if the actual strut itself is different or not.

Wouldn't it make sense that the AWD one would be stiffer since the car is heavier?

I believe that is the case with the springs and may also be the case with non-adjustable shocks. But I believe the adjustable shocks share the same valving. I'm not 100% sure though.
