I think your going to find that most people here know more about the 4g6x motors than the 420a. That doesn't mean that we don't want to help though biggthumpup.gif

This is ONLY a personal opinion, but I believe it would be easier to turbo the 420A than to swap in a 4G... Please keep in mind I have no personal experience with the Neon engine, only the little bit I have read on various message boards. That said, I have read many a positive comment on Hahn Racecraft's kits.

I would tend to agree with Moushon. Either turbo that 420A or sell that one and buy a stock turbo'ed Mitsubishi. There's no sense in spending all that time and money just to get a stock FWD 4g63T.

which import shop in morton? high rev or AIP (if they still exist)? i know all of the personally and i wouldnt trust any of them with my car. high rev knows cavalier stuff, but not dsms. they tried to sell me a used 16g for $700 and told me a mistu 12a would bolt right up. i walked out of their "shop" because they are idiots.

btw-where do you live?

i also wouldnt spend all that on a turbo 420a, one of my freinds has a red 97+ RS with a hrc turbo kit and i dunno what boost he is running but i beat him pretty good in a 95 ZE-powered mx6 LS (KLZE=jdm engine) my 6 was stock other than the engine (215hp 180ish ft/lbs) and a cai. i even beat a 93 tsi in that car. i miss that car everyday sad.gif

im from Deer Creek... umm... well.. for starters.. at this point in time.. (i dont think) that i can afford a turbo... monday illl have about 3000 i can spend on this project... i want it running asap.. i was hoping to get the thing runnin... nicely... with a nice boost of some extra HP... and i see that you guys have other perspectives on this.. so tell me what you think i should do.. by the way.. selling this car is NOT an option... i dont wanna abandon this car.. i think it looks awesome.. i'd like to make it run just as well... hook me up with some ideas on how to get this thing runnin asap.. with some extra power biggthumpup.gif

sorry i didnt add this in the last one... but the place i went to was High Rev... i don't deal with AIP.. but i believe all they have now is their website... unless they've moved or something... blink.gif

The biggest problem with the 420a and boost is the 9.6:1 compression. Its fine if you want < 10psi. If it will even put up with 10psi your doing good. For that car to make good power ~300whp for any length of time your going to need internals. It just wasn't built for boost.

PM Mitsu 77. He's got a shop that has done several 420As before and even more 4G63s. In fact, I believe the shop just got done putting some JE pistons in a 420A last week. Correct me if I'm wrong Mitsu.

AIP is strictly internet

and as for power adders. screw the turbo you'd be wasting your time and money on that. why not forged internals and just a lot of spray. if you want boost start with an engine designed for it.

If youre going to spend money on foreged internals why not put a turbo system on it? After buy the nitrous system, fill the bottle a couple of times you will have surpassed the cost of a turbo kit. After all a foreged piston kit cost the same wether it's for a turbo or a non turbo aplication.

lol guys im not lookin at turbo or nitrous this seccond.. i need the interals done as you said.. i'd like to set it up so that .. i can do whatever the hell i want later... me and mitsu 77 are talkin... ill probably look to him for my work.. seein' how i only knoew a few people that do this work.. if he does it often ill take him over others... as far as interals go.. that's the sorta info im looking for i guess.. but so far you guys have been very helpfull biggthumpup.gif

If I were you, at this point in time I would be looking for a 1G turbo car. I have less than $3K invested in my car, including the car itself, and I absolutely love it. Get a 1G and use your 2G as a daily driver. You will be ahead in both money and power.

lol ok.. i came to this forum looking for information on how to fix my car.. and make it better.. not get a new car.. lol..

Understood, I was merely sharing what I felt the most logical "bang for the buck" solution. Being that you are set on making you car faster, better, etc., Just start looking around at NT message boards. From what I understand, those engines produce a pretty decent amount of low end torque, all you need to do is match it with some top end hp. Should be relatively easy with the typical bolt-ons. Good luck!!!

I wish I had a DD right now. my only transportation is my feet while the talon undergoes work.
