does anyone know by any chance if an srt-4 motor would drop into an RS eclipse without a bunch of rigging?? Or would it be like putting a 4g63 in?
ICGerms
what year eclipse?
JMoushon
I would assume it is a 2g? If so, and mind you I'm talking out of my a$$, I would think that if you got a full swap it COULD work. Or piece together a turbo 4G64. That seems to be a good set-up. Ask ncgalant, he has 320+ whp.

why??
your not thinking of doing it are you??
sustalon
it is a 99...
im thinking about doing anything at this point my motor is going down hill.... i dont really want a 420a anymore so im trying to find a motor that is turbo already that will go in. I just thought an srt4 is a neon and my car basically is so why not
sustalon
what car had a 4g64 in it?? does taht goin into my car??
JMoushon
Galants had it, and for a bit of extra work, the old Dodge Ram 50/Mitsu Mighty Max compact trucks had a 4G64 6 bolt block. Ask ncgalant what years of galant had this engine. Why not just go with a 4G63 if all you want is a turbo? I recommended the 64 because I thought you were looking for the displacement. If you just want boost, get a 63. My .02.

6-bolt would be your best bet, i think

I didnt think a 4g63 of 4g64 would bolt into a 2g?

You're right, they don't just "bolt in." But a lot of 2g owners have put 6-bolts into their 2Gs. As far as the SRT4, isn't that basically just a turbocharged Neon engine...the 420a?
Justincredible
yes I know they do. But those are already 7 bolt 4g63's. I didnt think a 4g63 would mount into an RS?
sustalon
a 4g63 doesnt mount into an rs without alot of work
what about eh 3.0 v6 out of the newer gt eclipse i was told they go in... does anyone know for sure if they do or not?
iowa_boost

If your wanting to keep it even close to where it is now your going to have to stick with a chysler engine. That rules out all mitsubishi engines(4g6x). Any other swaps are a unknown to me.
sustalon
are you possitive>? we were comparing them last night and they look similar...
resalturbo
just sell your car and buy a turbo car

just my $0.02
