Subject: Ran with a Mustang Cobra Saturday...sorta

I met of my friend's Saturday night. He's big into Mustangs so you
know what we were talking about! smile.gif I told him that we need to run
our cars some time. He said "My cars a pup now I blew up the last
engine and had to put a two barrel engine in. You need to race my
little bro. He has a '93 Mustang Cobra that is pretty fast!" I turn
and meet this guy hes pretty cool and we talk about Saleen's and a
friend of his that has a Talon....etc., etc.

We leave and as I'm crossing a road he pulls up to that stop light.
Once I get to the other side he takes off and I think...hmmm maybe.
So about 3 minutes later I get in my car and I start the mission! I
Jump on the freeway where he went and I'm off... about 5-7 miles down
the road I roll up to this black 93 Mustang Cobra cruising at about
60mph. (I ummm....passed a few people to get there smile.gif So as I sit
along side of him he looks over (I can barely see him through the
tinted glass) I wait for a minute, then he takes the bait! He
imediately takes a car and a half lead as I switch from 5th to 3rd.
(Oops, should have done that earlier) Once I was putting power to
the ground I never lost anymore ground. After shifting to fourth it
seemed as though I was starting to pick up some ground...then either
he ran out of gear or let off at about 100-105. I didn't plan on
letting off so I went flying by until about 120 and let off to
reserve any luck that may be left.

So, all-in-all I didn't beat him, but I was pretty pleased to not let
him get away! smile.gif Who needs those four extra cylinders anyway! Hahaha

Subject: Got what I was looking for at Cordova!

Well after the crazy 'Hot Rods From Hell' caravan to Cordova I got
one good run out of my car with the boost at 16PSi and 30 counts of
knock! wink.gif

I was able to pull a 13.946@96.26 MPH with a 1.897 60ft. time. On my
second run I had the headlight out just for a comparison. I botched
the run badly. When staging I got into the lights slowly, but I
kinda punched the brake to stop then went directly to my reving
preparation. Well, the car started to roll after I let off the brake
and tripped the red light. I was befudled for a split second until
the Turbo TA beside me heaved in launch. I let it rip, all too late
and then I missed second as well! Geeze...a little frustrating to
say the least. However the headlight removal allowed me to run
97.79MPH even with all the screw-ups. Just to give you an idea, I
had a 3.221 60ft. time and just about equalled my first stock run
with a 15.587! That means the headlight removal was good for about
1.5MPH which would have brought me near the 13.5ET mark.

Subject: HhAHhA...beating up on LT1's!

So I'm at a stop light on Rt. 24 bypass outside of Washington. I
notice a Black ominous figure headed my way in the passing lane. As
the figure drew nearer I recognized it as a mid 90's LT1 Formula
Firbird. By luck the light turned green right before he had to stop,
he scoots by me before I take off. I droped the hammer and blew by
him right after the shift to second and I was down the road...he
wasn't ready or didn't want to play I guess.

Then a little luck shined my way as we both got caught by the next
light. Actually he tried to slip through right at the last minute
again, but he had to pull to a stop deep into the intersection.

So the light turns green with my front bumper at his rear. Since he
didn't take the bait last time I let the clutch out easy to see his
reaction. Then I heard the V8 gurgling out the tailpipes as his
RPM's climbed in a haste. So I used the rest of my pedal in first to
catch-up and then I eased by him throught second. With about a half
car lead in third the LT1's torque began to reel me in, but very
slowly. by the time we had to slow for traffic I was still ahead by
a quarter of a car! Although we weaved through the traffic and I
passed him again, it was pretty much over with that.

I AM ARIVING! I am so close to my initial goal it's not even funny.
I am truely excited.

Subject: Who owns the blue WS6 TA that went to Cordova Darryl?

Ask him how his car is running? I'd like to know if he has any
excuses for me smoking him on rout 24 tonight!? Hahaha

Actually I pulled up next to him at a light on the lonely part of
Rt24. When I noticed it was him I threw him a rev and a honk, but he
wouldn't look my way. When the light turned green we both kinda half-
a$$ took off. I took the lead and stuck my hand out as a wave
figuring that he was looking by now. By then we were both into it
hard and he staid pretty much on my rear bumper (Where he
belongs wink.gif. It was funny because I kept waiting for his torque to
catapult him by me...then as I shifted to fourth I seen his nose JUT
up to my side window and I thought it was over. But as soon as my
clutch grabed again...he just fell further behind! Then it was over
as we slowed down for the traffic that was comming up.

He drove by me a little later, we waved and parted ways. I went home
with a big **** eating grin on my face biggrin.gif. (Feeling pretty dang good)
Tell him hi and thanks for the race!

Subject: Ahhh winning is sweet!

So I'm on my way to the grocery store, just thinking that I rarely
see anymore hot shot racers since it started getting colder. I pull
up to a stop light behind a Galant with blue neon lighting inside the
car?! What ever...well he starts half-ass darting through traffic
and I follow suit. He wasn't a turbo so it wasn't much fun, but as
he turned off at the next light I pulled up next to a 90's Mustang
GT, with a sticker that read 'Drive it like you stole it' smile.gif

I look over but he's busy jawin with his GF and I'm just going to the
store so I'm not revving. Light turns green and I don't wait for
him, but just go about my business (about 4-5 cars ahead of everyone
else). He must have noticed me at that point because about a mile
down the road he caught up to my speed limit travel, went by me about
a 1/2 car and then punched it. I was tooling in 4th so I try to grab
3rd with no luck and his torque sent him a few cars ahead by the time
we both had to slow. DANG! That really torques me off when he
doesn't go for it at the line, but uses the torqe on me later while
i'm tooling around.

So now I'm on him like glue and it's obvious that I'm there. We
banter back and forth between traffic for a few miles and then it
opens up... I'm in the passing lane and he's in the slow lane going
about 40mph. As the road opens up we seem to slowly accelerate while
I'm waiting for him to punch it...I goose it, but catch-up to fast
and let off thinking wasn't going. Just as I do that I notice he's
pulling away. Hahaha he was going! So I punch it again....boom I
catch him, pass him shift to 4th and end up way ahead. I stop at the
next light, but as he comes to the intersection he speeds through the
right hand turn lane and escapes! Hahahaha

That was fun! He had no chance once I got in the right gear... smile.gif
He'd better go steel something better then that next time.
