I'm going to be needing a place to get my 7 tuned. Does Slo Pony handle anything and everything? There's a good place for RX-7s in Chicago, but I don't want to go that far. Does Slo Pony offer a garauntee on their tuning? Last thing I want is some idiot popping my two rotor. I can do that myself.

Slo Pny can do just about anything mechanical repair. We can also handle most performance upgrades, but we feel that the 3rd generation RX-7 is a bit of a special animal with a history of popping motors with incorrect tuning.
So I would recommend that you take your RX-7 to A-Spec in Chicago to get it tuned properly. They only charge around $295 plus dyno charges to get your project tuned in with an aftermarket ECU like the Haltech. Getting scheduled in takes a little patience though.
Good luck with this!

You may want to try Redlineunlimited tunersLTD. Based out of Pekin Illinois, they have completed several fd build ups generally in the 500whp relm. Ive seen, ridden and raced several of their finished products, and they are expertly done. It it truely unreal to go 175+ in a 55.
he speaks the truth. very good guy. knows his dorito motors.

Redline is a good guy and I will let him speak for his warranty and such. FYI - I have discussed tuning with him and he suggested elsewhere for actuall tuning of our Haltech system. Plus I'm pretty sure the ECU for Redline's latest completion came completely programed for the hard components installed on that car.
I like to keep money local, but I don't necessarily like to throw excessive liability on friends/locals. Just my opinion...
Good luck either way!

Alright. Thanks guys. I'll look up redline before I go all the way up to Chicago. I am wind up in Shy town anyway, when I'm finally released. But I'll be heading back to Pekin first.

I heard those guys have popped multiple engines. Maybe it's just rumor. But if they're doing that, they must be doing something terribly wrong.

I don't know if they are doing something wrong in the tuning or if they are just running the car so hard that it just can't handle it.... kinda like Jracer and his trani's

ALmost got the cash for an HKS 57T kit. If I can't find a competent tuner, then it's all going to suspension.

40K miles. I'm not tearing into it until after it pops. And after that, the most I'll go with is a street port.

With a stock port or street port, you're waisting that turbo. I would go either large street port, 1/2 bridge or full bridge.
