I'm here, but as Nate suggested...very busy.
It is true, in an attempt to keep Dan's 3000GTO behind me Sunday. I ran my high knock engine about half way through 5th gear before it gave out. To add to the engines demise, the combination contained a slight uphill grade, and part of my water injection was leeking out with boost.
I am hopefully about to put my knock problem down once and for all. I guess I just had to let it kill itself! I can say that even with knock that little engine whipped a lot of a$$ and made it's finally in front of the 3000 that kept pulling on me from a roll!
I already have a temporary 4G63T that will be going in this weekend. I plan to be out a ready to test this puppy out Saturday night!
In the mean time the knock monster will get a full rebuild and upgrade for next spring!
BTW - While I was in the junkyard I found a burnt up 1G. As I walk from the rear to the front I was supprised to see some paint left on the hood. But I about fell over when I noticed that this car had once been all black with two silver racing stripes down the center!! It was Jim and Katie's old car...and Rob's too. Wow...RIP.
