The expression was priceless, on my supervisors face...
I took one look at the pile of crap left on my once clean desk and it was enoughs enough... I stated that I hate this job, my supervisor over heard it. "What was that?" Let the cock swinging begin...
I responded, I truely loathe this position and am half tempted to turn in my 2 weeks notice right now. He replied, if you want to go, go. No need for the two weeks notice. Sweet. After 3 years I did the unthinkable, and perhaps unwise.. I said, thats that. See ya.
It felt good for about 20 minutes, then I realized I should of waited until something else was lined up.
So I sit here, one of the unemployed pondering what to do now.
A weight is lifted. My soul is free.
Anyone want to buy a house?
Wow.
That takes guts.
What are your skills?

I hear Menards pays $7 or so an hour weekdays, time and a half weekends. Between that and your thriving DSM buy/sell/trade/part business I imagine you would do ok, and probably have a hell of alot more fun.
I know my favorite job was running parts for Harry, er, Carquest from Metamora to Washburn, Lacon, Toluca, Roanoke, Eureka, East Peoria, Spring Bay etc etc etc. Got to talk to all kinds of mechanics, think alot, and it was involved with cars. Only paid $5.50 an hour...
Second favorite was pushing carts at Kroger's. Believe it or not I was 145 lbs and in shape then and just really enjoyed being able to clear the parking lot faster than anyone else and volunteered even on blizzard or 100 degree days. Small victories.
Everything happens for a reason.

State Farm Insurance is hiring on some upper level jobs. They don't announce them to the public because they say their on a "hiring freeze" but I know a couple people that may be able to help you out. Try their website if you wanna find out more about the jobs there. Or you could try Spherion, it's a temp agency that State Farm hires alot of people from. Problem is all that is here in Bloomington.

Sweet. You stuck it to "The Man." Good job Spy.
Why didn't you swallow your pride and underperform to a point where you get the boot? Or just not show up and get fired?
My buddy and brother did just that and got $332 PER WEEK in unemployment for 9 MONTHS.
Eh, whatever. Check out Monster.com or hotjobs.com. They used to blackholes for resumes, but I've heard good things lately. Good luck...

don't know what job you can do, but if it's IT or accounting, Earnst & Young in LA is hiring like mad and desparate for people. Starting salary with 3+ years is low to mid 60's..

You're not the only one looking for a job without being employed currently either. I'm looking myself. I found that if you boil yourself two cups of Ramen noodles, pour both cups into a bowl, and sprinkle with shredded cheese and a sauce of your choice the whole nasty dried noodle taste is more tolerable. BTW, I knew you were jk, I couldn't imagine you choosing to sleep in a dumpster rather than in one of your many cars.

Put out some electronic resume's, got a call back the next morning asking me to start the next day... Then i terminated my 2weeks notice and quit all of my other jobs on the spot.
