I have a 92 Eclipse NA 5 sp that burnt out an ECU. I found another but I want to know does this happen often? At the dealership, they said it does. Anyone know what goes bad?
I am very good at electronics and would like to just put a $.50 capacitor is that is all it is.

If these can't be fixed, where can I get one of these cheap. Anyone have a stock pile of these?
Thanks for any help.

I've heard they just go bad, but never experienced it.

The caps tend to leak on the older ECU's. If you get a new one replace them once you get it.

taxi is right, nice link btw, but on occasion i have heard of a few cars that tend to fry ecu's like spy did tranny's. open it up and take a look inside.
