So the new clutch is in my car, everything is bolted up, fired her up, and she ran a little rough, but fine.
Then she died. Started up. Then died. Tests show I am only getting spark on 2 cylinders, 1 and 4. Coil has been changed. Still not 2 or 3 spark. Mr. Wort suggested a new ECU, while Mitsu 77 said it could be the ECU, transistor, or cam angle sensor.
Any other ideas? I seriously need to get this car going ASAP, and its hard to drive it on 2 cylinders...

if it was only running on two cylinders it'd sound like a john deere, and you said it ran fine?
Check fuel system.

Plugs and wires. A couple of obvious ones that you probably already checked.

- you'll have better luck starting your own thread in the parts wanted thread.

Mitsu is Ryan Retter, whom has been helping me with my car for the last few days (I appreciate it a ton Ryan!), and the 90 transistor is for my car if I need one lol.
On a positive note, I started pulling wires from the crank angle sensor and coil pack tonight, after I had alread started her up and she was running on 2 cylinders. She wouldn't start back up. I am thinking this could reaffirm my thought that its a ground, since now I have NO spark.

sorry about that nick and ryan,
case still being you'll have better luck getting a transistor if you post up a seperate thread under parts wanted. vultures like myself will sometimes look under parts wanted/forsale and not look at general talk threads.

grr.....!
So I traced all the wires, made sure they were all secure, fired her up. She fired up fine, no problems. Me happy.
Pull her out of the driveway, take it down the block. Kinda baby it a bit. Turn around. Lose self control and gas it. Car is faster than it has ever been before (added a couple goodies while she was down). Me very happy.
Check engine light comes on, losing power. Me not to happy. Car dies. Rolls back into my driveway. Me even unhappier. Car will not start again. Dammit.
So its starting cold alright after it hasn't been started for a couple days....and then when it warms up, its kicking the can and throwing CELs. Havn't got a chance to datalog it yet (DD left town and locked his door, and the logger is in his room), so I dunno what codes its throwing. Any other suggestions besides the obvious "datalog it"?

also, I broke my idle control thingy. Not sure if that could be effecting this...

talked to my dad tonight, he thinks he could be timing related. Anyone else see this as possible?

Intake plumbing, gross boost leak, bad ecu, "idle thingy," ... Do you have a way to identify the CELs? That might be a good place to start. On the other hand, I doubt it has anything to do with the timing.

Dave has Kris' datalogger here, except Dave is out of town and his room is locked, so it will be a day or two before I can use it.
