I have a bad miss after the rebuild i just got done, the car just stutters and shakes like crazy and will not basically move anywhere whenever i give it gas, the rpm's SLOWLY move up and the car slowly accelerates but nothing like it should, i changed my plugs, debating on changing the wires still, i am getting 2 check engine codes, like code 13 for intake air temp sensor and code 43 i want to say, i know its the code for the fuel pump, or fuel pump relay, have any of you guys ever ran into either of these codes? its a 90 tsi awd, like i said though the car is missing like crazy and acts almost as if its running on just 3 cylinders, what do you guys think?
thanks a ton

I would recommend a compression test if it seems like it's running on three. Also, the order of the wires on the coil. 4-1-2-3 from the valvecover to the intake is the order I believe. Double check all sensors. Is it missing under load or at idle? Can you accelerate if you stay in vacuum? Do you have a piggyback fuel computer?

If the iat sensor is bad on the MAF it will throw the ECU into limp mode aka no power mode. I'd check for loose wires in and around the MAF. I have a 1G MAF I can sell you if you find you need a new one.

i tried a new maf, new fuel filter, checking the spark plugs, timing and all that stuff, i am thinkin about possibly taking it to KOU on friday, do they also work on cars? whats their hours? i am just completely and utterly friggin stumped, and i know the bad thing is its probably something really stupid, i dropped it off at a shop today thats in the same town as me, but more then likely it will hopefully be at kou on friday, btw on the way to the shop today the tach was flying all the way around the place..... bad coil cause all this problem? i done all of the multimeter tests on the coil and it all metered out fine.... whats the odds of it still being fine?

Yes, we work on cars. As of right now, we only do hours by appointment. By Friday we should definetly have room to pull another one in.

Dunno how soon i will know if i need to take it over there or not, do u want me to prepay to hold an appointment or anything? the mechanic that is working on it right now is not specifically skilled in the dsm area like you guys are so more then likely it will be coming to you guys........ even if i get it running i wouldn't mind gettin some things off of you guys...
xian 1g
no need to pre-pay, just keep us informed that way we know if and when you might be coming and try to make sure that a car port is available.

we are in the process of trying to locate a trailer jor a car hauler to acquire for the shop. there's not much out there right now, but there are few temporary possibilities that we could pursue. There would probally be a charge to us that would be applied to the final cost. i know that I personally would not be capable of coming down to matoon to work on it, but I can check with Travis.
bigjiggy81
just let me know bro, like i said my email is bigjiggy81@yahoo.com, you or travis get a hold of me and let me know
