When events roll around locally next year, you might want to consider going.
I got runner-up in my second event last weekend at the Battle of the Imports.
While I am not a super fast car, the low turnout combined with decent driving has secured me my second r/u finish.

So I am the proud new owner of a real cool trophy and a fairly significant amount of cash once the contingency checks start to roll in.

I will post the information from the time slip from home-I don't have it here at work. I did run the best time for the VR4 (13.1) I am knocking at the door for the 12's - once we get a new clutch it should be real easy.

Just thought I would let you know that there is excitement and potential to place for the average joe cars at the big events.

She ran the VR4 in competition in the NHRA SPort Compact Sport RWD class and the Street Tuner class at Battle of the Imports. She finished runner up in both classes.

In the finals at the Battle she was in the lead till about half track. She was up against a Supra the dropped out of my class on down to her class because he could not get his car to run right. His car has run high 9's before. He put his exhaust back on and ET Street tires to be legal and ran a 12.4 I think against Susan. She treed him and he was playing catch up for quite a while.

the last time i pulled an engine, my girlfriend got mad at me becuase I didn't let her get under the car and pull the transfer case. I came out covered in oil, and she was mad that it wasn't her.

She learned stick in about an hour, and enjoy's pretending to 'shift' and race me in her 96 corrola.

I picked mine up in a bar to piss off an ex... she was on special too! $1 a bottle
