Someone on here deleted all the posts and edited my thread saying some babble about this site not being a Honduh site. They were correct, its not a Honduh site, but we are Honduh only shop. We do a lot for DSM's and are happy to help anyone on this site with questions or work they might have or need.

What was posted before:

Dyno - We have access to a very nice DynoJet dyno in Peoria. Customers would pay us for the dyno tuning and not the shop where the dyno is located. We have an agreement with the dyno owner.

Location - We are currently looking at some places in the Bloomington area. We want to find the right place. In the mean time, Dan Showalter of Import Motor Specialists has been kind enough to let us use his shop in Morton. It is a VERY nice place with enough room to work on 6-8 cars at the same time. It is fully instulated, heated floors, racks and racks of JDM motors and parts, engine hoists, fork lift, air compressors, etc.

Let us know if you have any other questions. biggthumpup.gif

This is straight forward information people. Keep the BS to a minimum!

FYI... R&T's is now charging $115/hr.
ranta18
I will have lots of dynos, cars, and other info on the website this weekend. Be sure to check it out next Monday. biggthumpup.gif

I'm sure all those places do good work and I can not compare theirs to ours as I have not seen anything from them. For our race engine builder please go here: DPR RACING I'm sure Dan has enough accomplishments in Honduh, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, etc to answer your questions on our credibility and experience.
xian 1g
so Dan Paramore works for you guys? Is he the mechanic for you guys? Will he be working out of Morton as well? If so that's pretty sweet, nice job. he'd bring a lot of credibility to the work perormed there biggthumpup.gif

or are you just distributing his parts? and doing the mechanic work yourself? If thats the case, imho i think it's a little misleading to call him 'our race engine builder', makes me think he's in morton with you guys tearing down and rebuilding motors. which would be like me saying dave buschur is our race engine builder if we installed a buschur motor. which is fine if he's not, it's just a different ballgame.

not accusing here, just asking for clarification.
akamiami
jesus christ, you guys need to get of his back. There's a lot of negative speculation that you guys are stirring up.

Good luck rantis, hope this is a big success for you! biggthumpup.gif

Thanks for all the support Kris. Let me know if you need anything. I will definitely hook you up. That EMS is just waiting to be put in.

We are a DPR Franchise. Any services or products DPR offers, we offer as well. Some engine building is done by us and some will be sent to CA for Dan to do. In the future, Dan will be coming here and teaching us on the higher levels of engines, headwork, and engine buildings. At the time, all headwork will be done by Dan. If you have further questions concerning the specific details of any work you wish to have done, feel free to email me at mike@rndauto.com

I tend to agree with Kris, here. Ranta may not have been the most positive poster in the past, but that's no reason to shun his business or publicly question his ability to work on cars and engines. I haven't seen him question anyone else's abilities on this site. Please extend him the same courtesy.

He's built a 12 second all motor that other car that we shall not name pretty much from the ground up. If I understand his determination correctly, it will most likely be running 11's this summer. That gives him some qualification in my book.

He may not be as qualified as some others on here as far as working on and tuning certain facets of DSM's, but that doesn't mean he can't get the job done or can't learn.

If its a personal problem, take it to PM's.
ranta18
Thanks guys. As we are starting out, we will surely try to help the local guys out as much as we can. Don't forget about Doug either. He is my partner and has a lot of experience working on cars. Those ITB's weren't easy thats for sure.

Nate - Sneak peak... http://www.rndauto.com/ranta2.htm Click on numbers 6 & 7 for recent pictures with the lexan windows in and 1pc on. 11's would be good, but I'm hoping for 10's with the setup me and Dan (DPR) have planned. cough...17:1...cough wink.gif

image,

I think we need to clear something up here, as I believe your post to be totally erroneous in it's accusations.

since I am the only one associated with a shop above your post besides marcus. i assume this is directed at me.

I would also like to say for any one else that has a shop or is involved with a shop and tries to discredit another shop show's bad taste!

read my post:

that is not discrediting another shop, that is congratulations on snagging someone with more experience in years than i or ranta have of age.

Ranta inferred that Dan was their race engine builder. I asked for clarificaiton. there is nothing negative there.

infact, due to Ranta and I's personal disagreements in the past, I stated at the end to clarify for him that I wasn't drumming up trouble:

Ranta understood that, and clarified for me. so should you now.

to that, I will re-etirate, congratulations Mike and must be exciting to work under someone with that much experience.

Ranta and I have our personal disagreements, which have been taken to Pm's, and at this point, while are we not considered friends, I never bashed him in this thread, he gave shocking news, I asked for clarification, he clarified and I gave congratulations.

YEH WELL, I THINK RANTIS IS A BIG DUMB DUMB AND DOESNT NO poopy! J/K GOOD LUCK AND REMEMBER IF YOU NEED ANY HELP WITH ANY THING CALL ME!

Information that I obtained says that Doug will not do anything involving a 4g63 bottom end whatsoever at this point in time, nor for the forseeable future......?

just headwork and recommending parts

so I assume then you would do the bottom end stuff locally and he would the head stuff out in Cali then?
xian 1g
actually doug... i believe you are mistaking doug wallace/d.p./bloomington with Dan Paramore/dpr/california...

correct me if i'm wrong here?
ranta18
Garner - tongue.gif Will do.

Image - Thanks for not starting a huge arguement. I'm sure you and xian can discuss things and work them out via PM if you still disagree on what each other ment.

haunter - I haven't heard Doug say anything like that. If you ment Dan (DPR), I have not asked him that question directly nor heard him say that to me. I can find out though.

As I said earlier, some work will be done by Dan at DPR in CA, some done by me or Doug locally. We will not take credit for any work done by DPR. For example... If he does the head work and we build the engine, it will be a R&D Auto built engine with a DPR head.

dur yeah I meant Dan

I just saying my name randomly apparantly ph34r.gif

thanks for the clarifications
xian 1g
thanks for that clarification ranta - image and i went to pm's a while ago, misinterpretations of each other.

doug, you do that often.
ranta18
I spoke with Dan and he recalls someone calling recently and asking about building a DSM engine. He said that he wasn't doing any right now because he is slammed and doesn't really have time to do any engine building at the current time. He is very busy with head work and if the person wanted their DSM head done, he would do it. When he builds engines, he puts a LOT of work and attention into building perfect engines and it takes up a lot of time. He would do it, but doesn't want the customer waiting a long time to get it. As for none in the future, that is incorrect.

Wow, over 2500 hits to our website pages in less than 3 days!

I will have more dyno graphs and cars up this weekend.

A bit of a tangent but I'm curious where all you are advertising?

BTW, good luck in the venture. biggthumpup.gif Have you guys found your location yet? I've always been jealous at how many superior locations there are out your way.
ranta18
Thanks for the kind words Travis. We are advertising on several nationwide and local (midwest area) forums besides DSMC and it doesn't hurt to be on DPR's website which averages over 6,000 hits a day. Great response so far and even some jobs lined up. Mostly service stuff... complete B16A NA engine build starting next weekend for one guy in MO, clutch and flywheel for another customer, some head work, suspension work, some engine sales and swaps in the works, etc etc. Lots of people seem to be happy there is a place like us around.
