I need both lower control arms with good ball joints for a 94 eclipse gst for a reasonalbe price any one have these?
akamiami
you don't need lower control arms if your balljoints are bad. Who is the DA who told you that?

You can just buy the balljoints separate, rent the press, freeze them before hand and voila! your car won't track funny anymore.

We should have at least one pair on hand. $20 per side U-pull-it sound fair?

I got mine from Autozone for my old GST. Didn't think to freeze them, took about three hours for both with a C-clamp, tranny jack, and a prybar. Press fit balljoints are a pain.

it says in the chiltons manual not to replace the ball joints. It says to just replace the controll arm
Kou where is it that i am going to come and pull these?

Chilton manuals are wrong, if that is the case. Mitsu wouldn't sell the part if they are not designed to be replaced. I actually just today bought 2 ball joints. If anyone has a pair of shot stock LCA's, let me know, I'll give a little cash. I've got poly bushings and the new joints to install, and it'll be easier off the car.

I'm pretty sure I've got an extra set actually since I overbought last time I curbed the 'lubé. At the time I was going through LCA's at a fast rate, much to Natedogg's chagrin. Lately, I haven't been offroading in the car as much.

Check when the last time that the Chilton's manual was made. When the cars were first made, it was probably cheaper to buy new LCA's because the supply of the balljoints were so low. But then everybody started to make them. Now you can get them from the local auto parts store. Before, when the manual was made, Mitsu was probably the only place. And we know how "cheap" their prices are. biggthumpup.gif

Chagrin? That was awesome. You pulled off the smoothest, coolest drift ever! I'm sure you looked like a pro doing it too. I saw the people walking their dogs ooohing and ahhing at your mad skillz, McRae! biggrin.gif

Yeah, my Haynes manual says the same thing, but they're both wrong. Mine actually says that you cannot replace the ball joint whatsoever, and that you have to buy the LCA. huh.gif

I guess all the manufaturers making the ball joints for our cars don't know what they're doing. rolleyes.gif
