sounds too good to be true. i wish it was me in the market for an evo. i would kill for either one. but being a stickler for wanting an unmolested car. i would have to go for the unmodded new one. but if you can confirm all mods were done correctly and without harm, and the car was turbo timed, etc... go with your gut.

Well, the RS has no spoiler, radio, powered mirrors, color matched door handles, HID lights, or A/C. That is why the '05 RS sticker of $27,929 is cheaper than that of the originally $30-35k that dealers were selling the '03's for. You might want to weight that option as well. Either one sounds like a killer deal. According to NADA guides, with a sunroof and 200 miles (I ASSuMEd a sunroof) the average retail was $27,350. The whole setup with all those mods is pretty cool, although, for me, the appeal of a warranty, knowing for myself I did EVERYTHING to it, and the ability to put what I want in it after said warranty expires would be more fun.

Sounds like you're back to square one, dude. I imagine a certain person in the household might like having one car replacing the other as opposed to adding another, too. I wonder how long you would also be able to go trying to abide by the normal break in period. I also wonder what you would do with this warranty. I personally think you did pretty awesome with what you had, but I am not as knowledgable with what yields what for potentials.

How far do you drive in a given day? How fast would you use up that warranty? If you drive a lot, go the warranty route. If you don't drive all that much to work and back and maybe the occasional trip, go the modified route. The choice is yours my son....

What is she going to drive when you sell the LHS?

First, you'll not leave it stock. Not even. You can't. I haven't known you long but I'm convinced of that. So get over it.

Hell, get the 400hp and you'll still jones to tinker with it.

But, I'll tell ya what. Get that freshly modded '03 and you'll be damned tough to catch!

Now, for you and anyone going after an '03, be sure you ask them about the tranny, SES lights, etc. and know that the OEM tires are half-useless if he's not been putting the others on. They go FAST.

Keep us posted ya used car (parts) salesman...

Sock vs modded evo? Which one would you get?, With the BMW sold, EVO is a GO.

You really can't beat a good pair of socks.

I say go with the mooded one. I would not say this if it was built some one I didn't know anything about. But since it was done by the guys at AMS I wouldn't have any doubts about buying it.

The LHS will be disassembled and a supplement will be done on monday
