The red 5.0 flies by with all-black tint and some kind of non-stock hood. The driver-window down had shown two flashing pasty-white bodies excited at their acquistion.

The light ahead turned yellow.

I ALWAYS take the open lane in my dreams so I move the right in my slumber, with signal, of course. He moves as I signal without one of his own - isn't that illegal when I'm awake?

Fine, I'll take the left lane.

Pulling up I see the black, custom hood. One that makes room supposedly for some kind of intake with a slot infront of each front seat occupant - custom? The black, driver's side window rolls up.

He's expecting it. I tell myself in my dream that I don't do this kind of sh!t. I'm an adult. Plenty of time to contemplate as I wait for this light to change in my unconscious, slumbering state.

Green. Brief chirp and wheelspin from the 5.0. He can launch. Caught asleep or unsure in my own dream my right foot reacts as the left foot halts, engages, springs free.

It's like a bass-fishing show. Fish on. Reel working. The prize coming in. Reel by reel, yard by yard, spooled up to ultimately be landed and bested.

Third gear proves, fourth gear underscores... coast ...

The black, glass curtain drops ... "is that stock???", the young, close-cropped redheaded kid asks.

"Pretty much..."

"Damn..." ... as the window rolls back up...

Someday, in these self-same dreams, I'll be willing to launch too. It'd be nice not to have to reel 'em in anymore ...

I was too, nate. I've gotta hop a plane out to take care of family business again. Exhaust ships sometime next week supposedly and I'll order the handling parts then too.

So, you better hurry up and get fender-to-fender soon. That way I won't set the bar too high for ya at first. Then I can reset it again for ya in a couple weeks...
