I am currently in the process of swapping an Autometer gauge I have for a Greddy EGT from a guy in Florida. He seems to be very cooperative, replying to my emails (usually daily for about a week and a half) and even agreed to meet me while I'm in the area in June. So, all things aside, I'm pretty comfortable with it. Now, here's where I need your help. Did Greddy ever make a silver face EGT? The website only lists white and black faces but the picture makes it look almost silver. I have no reason to doubt him because he's shown me nothing but kindness but, people do put on their faces sometimes. He has assured me that it is a white face (which is what I want so it matches my Phantom boost gauge). Here's a link to the picture he sent me and I'm emailing him back to verify that it's a 60mm gauge and not a 52mm (so that it fits in my gauge pod). Thanks

BTW, this is an open box, used item so I'm not sure what all comes in a Greddy EGT package. If any of you that have bought one new can help me make sure that everything is there. It looks like it to me but you never know. Thanks

It looks to me like it may be missing the probe for it. See how it looks like there's just a plug on the end of the heat protective wrap. It looks like there' a plug/connector there but no probe. What's the deal?

it does look like it is missing the probe to me as well. I'd definetly check into that.

I'm making some assumptions here so, bare with me. Greddy lists the sizes of their gauges as 52 and 60mm. If you read those sizes literally, they'd be huge. Now, I took two rulers and lined them up side by side to compare mm vs. inches. I'm assuming that by saying 52mm Greddy is really saying 5.2mm and 60 means 6.0mm (why they can't just say that I have no idea). That would make 5.2mm the correct size for my gauge pod (2 1/16 inch opening). Are my assumptions correct? Thanks

yes they made them in silver (called it a limited color) good thing is they have a backlight that matches DSM stock clusters VERY WELL. compared to the white and black that back light in greeen. as far as sizes go, a 52 is about the same as a 2 1/16 which is a standard autometer size. The 60mm is a little big gaugepods.com has pillars for 52 or 60 or a combo of both. the 60mm is aboutt eh same as the average autometer 2 5/8 (think thats the size). you can hog out a Standard 2 1/16 pillar to fit a 60 but it look like crap IMHO.

Just to clear up some confusion for you, the gauges really are 52 and 60 millimeters in diameter. I think you may be confusing it with centimeters, in which case the 5.2 and 6.0 measurements would be correct. Metrics can get confusing for people accustomed to US measurements. Hope this clears it up for you.

LOL, I hadn't even thought of that, I assumed the other side of the ruler was milimeters. I feel like an idiot. Darn foreigners, always tryin to cornfuse me.

What do you mean by hacked? It looks like to me I may need to run my own wires to the power and ground. I guess I'm not seeing what is mortally hacked.

you can see there are power ground, and then the two wires from the probe itself. That kit is missing a bunch of things. I would just buy new, buying used gauges is not a good idea. How do you know it hasn't been dropped? Wasn't installed incorrectly, maybe given a jolt or two of electricity?

Well, I suppose it didn't occur to me that he may have dropped it. I guess I psychologically trusted that other people took care of their things as I do. The problem arises in that I still have to get rid of my gauge first and I found it convenient that he was selling his. I suppose I'll just have to try and sell mine for cash by itself and buy one new. Thanks Dave
