http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.p..._gallery&id=295I'm kinda mixed. Its nice to see Mitsu is willing to change the base platform for the Evo to something sleeker and more compact....but the damn thing looks like a Celica!

I definitly like the evos now more than that. That car has a lot of the new eclipse in it, not that that is a bad thing but i would like to see the evo stay more close to its roots instead of it changing to look like a shitty future car. Just my opinon.

The front reminds me of a Focus.

... not sure what I'd do with the front but I wouldn't leave it stock. *Laugh*
I don't have any info on this - been avoiding info on IX and X models. I'll let ya know what I think when I get more info. The question now is MIVEC in the IX or not.

I do like that they are running a larger turbo and giving her another 50hp from the factory

Looks like some automotive gumbo made from about 5 different designs of cars. A sprinkle of focus, a dash of SRT-4, simmered over low heat to near perfection.......then set on fire with a blowtorch and burned to shit.

QUOTE (Kazz5 @ Mar 17 2005, 01:51 PM)
The question now is MIVEC in the IX or not.
Is the MIVEC what they're calling Mitsubishi's version of GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection)? I'd like to see them integrate that into the EVO, which there are some words rumored about it. More power, less fuel. I'd like to see more manufacturers going with GDI instead of those stupid hybrid vehicles anyway.

MIVEC is about variable valve timing, don't believe it has GDI...

I heard it was the X that was to have the GDI. BTW, sorry for the double post.

Interesting, the only GDI motor from Mitsu I know of is in a concept vehicle and it's a 2.4L ... Hmmmmm...

I can't remember where I saw it, I think it was in Sport Compact Car magazine, but it said if time constraints allow it would be part of the EVO X. Don't remember off hand the displacement but you could be correct on that one.

Mitsubishi was actually one of the pioneer companies for GDI technology. They've been dabbling in it on non-production cars since '97. I have heard rumors that it may go into the Evo X coupled with MIVEC.
Keep in mind those numbers in the article are only concept numbers for a concept vehicle. Nobody knows what the X is actually coming out of the factory with.

From what I've read GDI has actually be being used on some Mitsubishi models sold in Europe for the past couple years.
