You betchya! This purple people eater resides in Leroy, IL. It was a gift from Mitsubishi Motors of America to the Leroy Police Department and they have since converted it to do squad car duties. It's a 95 or 96 (don't know which) auto transmission FWD 420A non-turbo. It's nickname among the officers is "The Turd" because it's notoriously slow. Just thought all of you would get a kick out of this one. They still use it and it sits up at the town hall most of the time. If it wasn't purple it might actually blend in.

BTW, I didn't get pulled over just to get this pic. It was parked on one of the one-way streets in town and I pulled over in front of it to stop and take them.

If he has to arrest somebody, where does he put them? The trunk!

I'm supposing the back seat with cuffs around their back. If the suspect gets too unruly he calls for backup that has a cage in their car. That's what most of the officers that have squads without cages do. When I was arrested (for unspoken reasons) the officer had a cage in the car but chose to let me ride upfront with him because I was being calm and cooperative.

I live out by Downs and saw that a while back.. that siren sticking out on the bottom of the car was a dead give away.

I can just picture a DUI stop (not implying your stop), with the cop pushing the guy in the back seat of a 2 door car.... ohmy.gif

I guess I always picture 4 door squads, then again there was that Mustang squad that pulled me over once...

Exactly. That Mustang is notorious. As is the aquamarine Jeep Grand Cherokee that I saw 2-3 times a week on the way from Lexington to Pontiac on I55 to work. Doesn't look like a cop until it's too late.
