i just put in a Walbro 255 fuel pump and i am haveing troble starting it. it will turn it over a cuple of time and then it will start. what should i do? should i re wire it??

do you hear the fuel pump prime with the key in the on position?

To elaborate on what Kris said, turn the key to the ON position but don't start it/turn it over. When it's in the ON position (just before the start position) you should hear a hummmmmmmmmmmmmm from the fuel pump. That is the sound of it priming the fuel system.

i dont hear it, only time i hear it is when i turn it over and let it sit then i can here it. but when i the key is ON position (just before the start position) i dont hear nothing.

hmm, it should put pressure on the line with the key in the on position. i wonder if the MPI relay controls this. otherwise I'd check the fuel pump relay at a minimum. I guess it's time for you to break out the service manuals and get to diagnostic troubleshooting.

That's kinda strange. I know that the car should prime the system in the on position, but I don't think either of my two cars did that.

It really threw me off when I was troubleshooting one night. Then again, I didn't have problems with it starting.
