well the combination of work, not having a car to race, and saving myself for slo-pny day kept me awake. on with the updates!

It was a pretty good time. A good deal busier than I would have liked. I got 4 runs in with the Evo. Only one of which, I didn't screw up the launch or mis-shift.

First run: Spin the tires on the launch. Still manage a 1.86 60' ft and a 13.1@103 mph. Best run of the day.

Second run: Against Darryl in the VR4. Bog the launch, Doh! Darryl takes the lead and keeps it. I run a 13.9@whocares.

Third run: Bog the launch, AND miss 2nd. Double-doh! 14.blah@dammit!

Fourth run: Against Spy. Nail the launch! 1.7 60' Yes! Miss 2nd again! No! Find 2nd. Spy is coming up on me quick.....can't quite pass me by the 1/4 mile mark. He ran a better E/T than me but I got almost 2 tenths on him on the reaction time. 13.6@101.

I need to take the Evo up there again. I think I could squeeze a 12 out of her if I could get all my appendages to work together harmoniously.

Spy must not have been sprayin' ... or I've still not solved my boost problem?

Dammit, I should have gone ... My bests were 13.5s with flash. I'm lookin' for 12s on the 29th. And Spy couldn't get down to a 12?

I don't expect to ever know the truth Spy - but if I'm still runnin' mid-13s I'm gonna be pissed! *Laugh*

That's awesome. Good times guys! I feel confident in my assumption that I can get into the 12s now. Sometimes the butt-o-meter can be a bit off, but I think I have Spy by a bit over 3 tenths.

Well I might as well give my sorry report.....since I started this thread!

Remember this is my first time out with this car!

First run: Bogged off launch and missed second...ran a 15 plus...shack screwed up and didn't have a slip for me. Probably a good thing

Second Run: Bogged again. Ran a 14.73@98 2.65 60 foot

Third Run: Little better launch 14.4@98 with a 2.35 60 foot. With the clutch slipping 2-3-4 gear. Log read 6000 rpm flatline. Should of thought hard about of running again....

Because:

Fourth Run: 2.17 60 foot....YES much better, good run until I hit second.....clutch disappeared!!! Went home on my buddies trailer

Might be tough to get to Slopny day!

Got to meet Natedog and the infamous Spy, so I guess there was a upside to the night!

It's the liquid they spray on the track to improve traction. Sometimes they do a good job....sometimes they don't.

Excellent runs guys. I am astounded that the yellow EVO can run 12's with an exhaust! You are right there Nate. The Spy Bird should be able to crack 12's with the motor. Maybe she just needs the tune chip and some cool intake air. Nitrous will be a whole different story, especially with the tire griping so well.

Well it looks like swapping out just the clutch disk with a good used one didn't fix my problem. Clutch still slips, got to take it back apart. My car won't be going to Slopny Day.

Still might try to convince the wife to go and watch.

Resurface the flywheel (and the pressure plate if it's used).

Spy
We cleaned up both the pressure plate and the flywheel with a grinder. They looked pretty good. Sprayed them with brake cleaner after.

Yeah, we probably should have resurface them, but we had a time crunch and the disk was a freebe. If I have to take it apart again, I think I'm just going to buy a new ACT 2100 or 2600 and call it a day! Of course I got the save the money up first!

id go but just to spectate because I really dont have anything to race. So if i could hitch a ride with someone up there I could man the camera the way up. We will have to bring a tri pod.

I’m 50/50 on making it. If I can find a babysitter (which I've been trying to find for a week now) I will be there. If not I'm stuck watching Sponge Bob Square Pants all day. If I can make it I'm going to try and get a few friends to run their rides.

no, red sho on the 27th i didnt run any dsm's that night. i got owned by a 03 cobra, smoked my buddy mike in his 2000 v6 stang, and ran toe-to-toe to a black highend integra. there were a few other cars, and i think i got beat by a srt4, but i cant remember. also, my friend lance with his super coupe (one of the two thunderbirds there that night) beat me by 4 tenths. bastard. i ran a better 60' than him tho, odd....
