Started a aluminum duct to replace the headlight at the drag strip. I figure it's got to help smooth and ram the airflow to the aircleaner. Still need to fab up the right side and screw it together.
http://www.elmnet.net/~lange_c/Talon_Air_Inlet_Duct.htmlI plan on building a wall to enclose the aircleaner on the engine side eventually.
What do you guys think?

I'm assuming that you'll be running your plumbing through the larger opening? The ram air effect doesn't do a lot for a turbo setup, but the cooler outside air certainly will. I would definately get on that airbox for the engine bay ASAP. Many folks have registered much cooler temps with that mod. All in all, it looks pretty good.

Yeah, your right about the "raming the air".... I meant more just directing the air to the openings in the radiator core support.
I didn't plan on running any piping through the opening, I just wanted to direct the air to the eventual cold air box on the engine side.

I gotcha now. I was thinking the air filter would be sticking out in place of the headlight.

sweet setup..... Thats kind of the idea I had for an air setup if I were to ever pick up an early 1G with the pop-up lights...
pic 1-3 came up but I can't seem to view 4 and 5
Good job...

I finished it tonight....and I fixed the bad pictures.
http://www.elmnet.net/~lange_c/Talon_Air_Inlet_Duct.htmlI went out for a quick log. 78 degree day, air inlet temp on the datalogger was 80. Not too bad. I'm going to do some logs with and without the headlight on a hot day and see the differance.

Thanks all for the good words....

Removing the headlight and swapping in the 2 duct pieces takes about 10-15 min. Not too bad...
