I have a question, when you pull the TC the shaft that comes out of the tranny is it sapost to come out with the TC or stay in the tranny, and should the tranny fluid empy out when you pull the TC ? unsure.gif

DOH!! The shaft should stay in the tranny.

it don't seems like it's stuck in the TC sad.gif
mitsu90
should the shaft move in and out at all or is it sapost to be soldid and stay in one spot?

There may be a small amount of play in the shaft but not much. I would think the shaft retention for the auto trans would be the same as the manual. If the TC will slide off the shaft then you'll be better off.

My output shaft did the same thing when I blew my TC...the ball retaining the shaft somehow stopped retaining the shaft in my manual transmission. I had to take the end cap of the trans case off and the vicous coupler (I think that's what its called) and replace the ball. I've got picts at home..if it would help.

So you got the shaft retained.....or did you just get the transfer case on with the shaft loose.

If you still need picts, I can get them up posted this weekend, going to Cordova tonight.
