I am down and out again.

BAD NEWS:
The GSX just broke a crank pulley.

I was near a Pep Boys and the crankshaft pulleybrake on the decel.

thinking it was just a belt I was going to have the fix it, they came back and told me about the crank pulley flopping around. I have not had a chance to accually check it out too much for myself, except for seeing the pulley flopping around.

WORSE NEWS:
The Pep Boys technision happened to "think he knows about DSMs" and decided to put a socket and wrench on the bolt that holds the pulley to the shaft, he says that the crank has play.... AHHHHH, Crank walk is all I can think about now.
unfortunataly I can not verify his findings.
I will however check it out myself and reply back to let you all know.
That presents two thoughts.
1. THIS SUCKS
2. Finally my excuse to put in a 6-bolt

although now my wife, who was sitting with me in the pep boys parking lot for hours, told me that she thinks that I should sell the DSM and buy something dependable.

some one who has seen this problem please reply back to this as soon as possable.

after quick conversation with NC Galant, I think the pep boys guy is an idiot and it is simply the harminic dampener breaking away from the crank pulley.

my heart attack has been avoided once again and I should, with any luck, be back up an running again tomorrow.

UPDATE:

$151.00 + 1HOUR, 45MIN + NC GALANT'S GENIUS = FIXED DSM

the part that NC Galant described was exactly what was wrong with the pulley.

I went to Max Madsen Mitsubishi here in Aurora and they hooked me up with the part, I went to the garage and 1hour, 45 min later, I walked out of the garage with a fixed DSM. biggthumpup.gif biggthumpup.gif biggthumpup.gif
