Full Version: What defines a DSM?

Sorry for all the questions lately... if they would just fix CII I could leave you guys alone, LOL.

Anyhow, from what I gather, the first and second gen Eclipse/Talon are definately considered DSM's. I know it stands for Diamond Star Motors... but anything past that is a bit fuzzy.

What else fits that definition? Does it have to be made in Normal, IL? What about 3rd/4th gen Eclipse or 3000GT/Stealth?

Just curious!

Technically, 2nd gens are not DSMs, as Diamond Star Motors ceased to exist after 1994. Someone said that some of the 1995s did have the DSM badge in the engine bay, but I've never seen that myself.

it's not a DSM unless it's leaking something or is broken/not working right 50% of the time

That question has been answered a few times on the site. You should be able to search and find it.
