I want to take over your maniacal project if you want to bail out now and save time, money, and blood. So if you have any project that is 60 - 90% complete talk to me.

Are you wanting to buy a project from someone or are you a wrench for hire?

I don't mean this as a jerk or to talk you out of your idea, but if others woudn't want you working on their cars, what makes you think you can handle taking over someone else's project? Do you have some friends that are going to help out, or is this a learning experience for you?

I can do it.. but its not gonna be a drop the car off on friday and its out the door the next weekend. Its gonna be a learning experience for the most part but I will have my brother, the board, and VFAQ to help me out. I dont want to do it for someone else becuase if I were to mess up or misplace something I would feel like a jerk. That and I don't want to break something thats not mine. If its mine I can cuss myself and not be that worried bcuz it was mine.

Understood. If that's your goal, then I wish you the best of luck. There's help-o-plenty on this board, so don't be shy.

out side of the cost, it might accually be beneficial for you to find a stock or near stock car, especially if you are in the learning phase.
I know that when I picked up my GSX, I already knew tons about cars, but until I tore into the GSX, I didn't realize that I knew jack about DSM's.

once I tore into her, I learned quickly and was able to apply what I already knew about cars to help me, along with the DSM boards and the vfaq (gotta love vfaq!!)

It probably spent more than if I had picked up a 90% done project, but I got more self satisfaction, learned more, and knew the work was done right.

even after near completion (it will always be a work in progress) starting from a near stock car only costed me about $4000-$5000 in parts plus my own time.

it has everything i could want from a DSM minus a 6-bolt, and that is coming upon my return from this shitty sand box.

check out my garage, the recipe for my GSX is there, just add labor.
