I never thought I'd have this problem but, where can I get some of this stuff?

None of these fine establishments have it:

Jopac
Advance
Autozone
Farm and Fleet
Napa

My transmission is grinding a bit. It may be from failing clutch pedal bushings but to be sure I thought I'd throw some of this wonder goo in it to be double extra safe. I've got some Royal Purple in it now which seems to do the trick but only after the second 1st-2nd shift. I'm getting the clutch pedal assembly back this week so... she should be ready in street trim the end of this week (fingers crossed). Thanks guys

All of the Autozone's in CU have it, and Advance said something about stocking it soon. huh.gif
black92_tsi_awd
I've bought it at the Peoria Autozone on University.

Well, for whatever reason, the places here in Bloomington don't find the need to stock it, or order it in for me. Any ideas? Anybody coming from that way want to pick some up for me?

Might have to make a special trip to Peoria or Chambana. The car needs to be ready THIS WEEK. As in, I have to give the loaner back tomorrow and I need to have the car running by the end of the week.

Can't man. Maybe if I had a kid or two. I can't put myself into soccer mom mode just yet.

I'm curious as well. My latest excuse is my cough cough cough***ACT2600****cough needs another 1450 miles of easy driving before I start launching the crap out of it.

After that YOU'RE MINE! I might even be able to have a certain someone "hint HINT" call the countdown for us. Don't worry, I'll spot you her extra 100lbs in my car for your piss poor driving.

The Pennzoil Synchromesh is pretty much the same thing as the GM Syncromesh. A little birdy tells me that Bloomington has at LEAST one GM lot there.

Pricing just depends on what you value more: The initial cost for the "wonder goo" or the price per gallon of petrol required to save a few dollars. Figure 3-4 gallons round trip for Peoria and more than that for Chambana.

Yeah that's what I ended up doing this afternoon. Went to Barker GMC and picked up some GM Synchromesh. I had forgotten that they gave us BSAP employees a discount. List is about $10.50 and I got it for about $3 off of that. Also picked up some Mobil 1 synthetic 75w90 (Mitsu reccomends 70w90) for the rear diff. The bottle says it's formulated for Limited Slip Diffs so I figured what the heck. I'm also switching engine oils to Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30 as well. I think what convinced me more than anything is that the EVO 8's oil cap says it's filled from the factory with Mobil 1.

No Spy, I will not race for her. Knowing you you would set out some spike strips or find some way for me to loose, I'd be in the doghouse forever, and never live it down. NOW, if you want to put your money where your mouth is and can wait till I get the clutch broken in.... it'll be 2 Large. That's right 200....... pennies biggthumpup.gif

I couldn't have said that better myself. Also consider driving time and inconvienence to your schedule. Get it local if you can.

I WAS talking about the significant other when referring to "her". And, I'd like a shot at the 91 AWD if you don't mind. A little DSM on DSM hardcore action. Should be a good first win for my car

Just think of me as....dare I say it....Spyware, come to eliminate you, the virus that's been plaguing DSMCentral. You may be more seasoned old man, but I'm not so young that I can't show an old fart where he can stick that shift knob, and NO it's nowhere near my girlfriend. I've got the meat slicer, now how many pieces do you want that hot dog cut up into?

Well, its a bun length, so the number is dependant on how fine you slice!!!

Marry that one. Im telling you.

Last time I saw your hot dog it looked like it was about as big as a "little smokie". ph34r.gif

The plan is to eventually get married. We dont' know when but it is more than likely going to be after we get a place of our own, are financially dependent and have a healty bank account to rest on, and I'm ready to cut my car fund in half.

If you wait that long you'll probably never get married!

When I got married I wasn't financially dependant and didn't a healthy bank account...still don't. biggrin.gif But it's all good. Sometimes you got to go with what feels right and let everything else sort itself out. Especially money, because not matter how much you make, it's never enough.
turbohcar
Well, I'd atleast like to be in a place of our own before we get married and have some sort of career started.
black92_tsi_awd
I'm having a crappy day so hopefully your not taking my comments in a bad way...

I'm just trying to say finding the right woman is the hard part. Everything else is secondary...if she's the right woman it doesn't matter what you do or where you live.

But a job and a place to live helps biggthumpup.gif

That's enough deep thinking for me today
SCCA Stang
i would agree with these guys, The Job and place to live helps the situation, but finding the right woman is the hard part. When I got married, I was broke, dead broke!!! but we got married anyway, and things are starting to sort themselves out.
The Money should be the last thing you worry about. I would say close to 90% of all relationships fail due to money, they way I look at it, the more money you have, the more reasons to fight about it.

secure the girl and let the other things sort themselves out.
