hey i'm looking into this T-28. Problem is that i'm not that knowledgable about this one or them in general. I have heard they pack a pretty nice punch. Compares to a 16g i belive?? oh...and it's off an RX7....would that even work?
any ways

exhaust housing is totally wrong on that one to put it on your car. The t-28 is slightly smaller than the 16g if I remember right, but people use it because it's a bolt on deal. To put a 16g on, you'd have to get different oil and water lines, and a J pipe for the compresser outlet. 16g's can be had cheap enough nowdays that it's kind of silly not to just do that in the first place. If it were me, I think i'd go for a EVO III... or bigger...

the key word here is "money"....i want to go fast (like everyone else)...
i realized something the other day....a punk "ricer" in a 96 Neon with some turbo kit and a body kit has friggin alot more get up and go than i do.
i want an flippin Slowboy 50 trim, Supra side mount upgrade, injectors, a 3" exhaust, running +20psi and have around 400+whp.
but like i said...the key word is "money" ....which i'm using to buy a house right now haha....so if anyone has any of these things which they'd sell me at a reasonable cost....i'm all ears

I would agree, thats why I went with the EVO III 16G. I got it pretty cheap through a group buy with KOU motorsports.
the other plus was the "bolt on" benefit. No wierd mods needed, just bolt up and go (except for the supporting mods)

what supporting mods did you need? and what kind of HP were you putting down?

There have been some very fast times turned with the big 28. I don't know if I would bother with the RX7 one, but I would not consider them any less potent that the 16G. I was actually looking into one for my 1G a long time ago. Wicked quick spool and a lot of power. Plus I'm sure no one ever put a 28 on a 1G! If I had a 2G and wanted a very quick street car under the cover of stock appearance...I'd have a 28.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I have been doing a little bit of research, and the differences that I am noticing between the T28 and T25 are the compressor wheels. I also remember the inlet on the compressor to be a little bit bigger. Now, is it possible to buy that turbo and use the T25 turbine housing?
Upon typing this, I believe the answer could be no. If the turbine wheel is larger, then that could mean the housing would have to be larger than the T25 to accomodate. If I am wrong, then you could do this mini frankestein upgrade.
OR, what about using the T25 turbine wheel in place of the 28 wheel and using the 25 housing. It won't give the full effect, but should create a little more top end power.
Just a few random thoughts at 2:15 in the am

I believe the turbine housing is the same, wheels are different. Looks are near identical. Someone else clear this up for sure, I don't have enough experience with the 2G cars evidently.

If you are currently running a 14b it will be MUCH easier to keep with a mitsubishi turbo.

Here's Forced Performance's info on their Big T-28. Its a direct bolt on in place of the 2G stock T-25.

So, then can he use his T25 turbine housing on that 28? I ask b/c Total is looking to save money. Last I checked, that turbo is on ebay for $50!!
That is what I am ASSuming he is wanting to know about

i have heard that you can use the T-28 turbine in the T-25 housing for T-28 power with the completly looking stock T-25

Hell, if you already swapped to a 14b, you could be looking into 16g's as well. If your looking for bargain prices, look for the older big/small 16g's on ebay or dsmtrader. They aren't quite as nice as the Evo III 16g, but they still pack quite a bit more punch than a 14b.

Weren't you having problems with not having big enough injectors on that stroker block? I hope you got them resolved before you go putting the Frank on there.

it was fixed with a 3" GM MAS and Maft. but yes i will need bigger injectors if i want to upgrade.
but don't expect anything until spring time....the money tree is wilting right now.
