When is your DSM's Birthday? My Talon was made in February of 1991. What month/year was yours made?
For those of you that don't know, the build date is on the drivers side door jam and up in the left hand corner it should say the month and year it was made.
Anybody know how to tell what day by the other information in the door jam?

Very true Taxi, remanufacture date is important too! I can't call my remanufacture September 05 yet though, let's just say it's pending.

April 1992 - right at the point where 4-blot rear ends came in. and we still had the little front brakes.

That brings up a good question. I wonder if there was ever a point where the big brakes, 4-bolt rear end, and 6-bolt engine all made it into a production DSM. If memory serves, I don't think this ever happened because they started putting the 7-bolts in halfway through '92 and, I may be wrong, but I don't think they started putting big brakes on until '93. You could have a 6-bolt with a 4-bolt rear, but small brakes in '92 or a 4-bolt rear with big brakes, but a 7-bolt engine in '93.

Survey says:
6-bolt engine thru 4/3/92
7-bolt engine from 4/4/92
1-piston front brakes -92 model year
2-piston front brakes 93+ model year
It doesn't give me build dates as to when they switched them, just what year so I imagine they switched them when they switched model years.
Unfortunately, I don't have an interchange for the rear end.
At least that's what my parts interchange shows. Hope that helps some.

My teal car is November 91 and a 6 bolt/4 bolt
The black car was an April 92 and a 6bolt/4bolt.

survey says: July 1991 on my 92 Talon TSI.
That can't be too long after DSM opened in Normal. I can't remember when the factory opened though, so I may be just blowing some smoke.

Factory opened in 1989 for the 1990 model year. My dad started in late 89. My last post is just what my parts interchange at work says. Sometimes it's wrong and sometimes it's just plain incomplete but, it is right 90% of the time. I guess you caught me Wort.

I get the feeling that my old black car and Marcus's car are two of the last few 6/4s to be produced.
