Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. biggrin.gif We have such a nice group here at central! biggthumpup.gif

My buddy bought a trans from him and the tranny is giving him some problems. We would like to exchange it for another one, but we can't get in touch to set something up. If anyone gets in touch with him, would you be so kind as to tell him to call 773-344-0511.

Thanks for the help guys!

Travis doesnt stop in here as often as he used to, but he does have a pawn that shows up and relays needed info. I would put money on it that haunter will pass the word.

I check this board for my own reasons, usually its BOREDOM

Boredom? I thought you were working 60 hour weeks? wink.gif

Currently Travis is locked up in my dungeon. He is to be sacrificed to the car god.

So that's why he doesn't answer his phones (cell or shop), return phone calls, or private messages.

I am taking yet another trip down there soon if anybody cares to ride along. Or maybe P.M. me your questions, comments, and?or complaints and I will make sure he gets them. That is if he is there this time.

Ben, message delivered

Apparently he had an issue with his answering machine

BTW.....Engine is in, car is running but will not idle and does not smooth out until about 4200 RPM. Possible vac leak, timing off by a tooth although it appears to be dead on, or possibly the intake man didn't seal completely.

Any other suggestions?

Could alse be an ignition issue. Check plugs, wires, coils, etc.

Start diagnosis.

Boost leak test

Pull spark plugs and MPI relay(ground spark plugs on valve cover and crank for test)

Check timing with a timing light and line up marks on cam gears and crankshaft

Check the logger and make sure it's still communicating with the ECU, if not try a new ECU

Sounds to me like an injector stuck open or a missfire. Make sure you have the plug wires on well enough. I've had one not go on all the way and had a similar problem.
