Budmann, Nate lives in Peoria so keep that in mind.
BTW, I saw your car at the MOD show and I had one suggestion for you. Get a silicone coupler for the intake pipe-to-turbo section. With a proper silicone coupler, you won't have to worry about kinking the wastegate actuator line. BTW, that will be a 3inch to 2.25inch coupler reducer.

Thanks for the tip Turbo. I will have to look into it. I've got a tight girlfriend, and she don't like to let go of the cash.

Nate I appreciate that you will help me. I will let you know by tomorrow night if it will be possible to do that, you know with the woman and all. I got to squeeze the money out her and my time.

There are far worse things to have than a tight girlfriend...

I have looked for this reducer and I can't seem to find it. If you know where to get one let me know.
Nate give me a time that would be good for you. I can be there in morton by noon to drop off the ole lady

. She has a friend that lives there and it works out great. Drop her off and I can meet you and do what we have to do. Just let me know and some directions or address. Hmmm, Maybe a phone number.

FYI Nate, I checked those other 2 sites you mentioned for this stuff in another thread and found RRE cheaper - then before I hung up she said I'd get the order at 20% off - they didn't have quantity of what I wanted for my planning overkill. So the discount may have been about that, but hey!
natedogg
Oct 27 2005, 09:17 AM
Yeah RRE was cheaper on some stuff, the other sites cheaper on others, especially on stuff RRE doesn't stock.

12:30 to 1 works for me. I'll be in the garage anyway. Gotta fix the coolant return line on the turbo for the Talon and change the oil in the Evo.

got the vfaq on hookinh it up gonna do that sometime saturday.
do you have instuctions for the afc?
BudmannG
Oct 29 2005, 06:39 AM
They don't give you that part in my intructions. They say to take it to a Apexi dealer. Anything to try and squeeze more money out of us. And that is why I'm going to Nates today.
Do you have a logger mitsu90? Because you are going to need it to monitor your engine performance, when you hook up your Safc.

Hey guys I found out why I was running so lean. My rubber hose that I put on the fuel pump bursted/seperated.
I was actually trying to find out why when I filled the car full with gas my gas gauge would fall on it's face (go all the way to the left). It starts showing fuel about 1/4 to 3/8 of a tank.
I have the 255 walbro, when I bought it, it came with pump and filter. No wires so I had to wire myself. I heat shrank the positive female fitting before I put it in. But I didn't the positive tube connecter, Just crimped and left it like that. Is this thing shorting out on me when I fill 'er up?
natedogg
Nov 3 2005, 07:22 AM
Aha! Glad you found the culprit.
BudmannG
Nov 3 2005, 07:27 AM
But why is my fuel gauge doing that? Could it be what I explained.
black92_tsi_awd
Nov 3 2005, 07:35 AM
The gauge is a different part of the wiring harness. Did to bend the float arm when you put the pump back in?

No, Why would that cause the gauge to go to past empty when it's full?

I'm guessing some kind of wiring issue. Sounds like its time to break out the multimeter again.

Sorry read it wrong, I was thinking it stays at "E" and doesn't register until you have 1/4 tank in...if you would have bent it up, it would have to fill up until it hit the float.
Natedogg's tight, time for the multimeter...

This is just a pic to show you what I found when I pulled the pump.
Notice the hose. Click on the pic to enlarge!

This is what I found when I pulled my fuel gauge cover off. The part that is screwed to the fuel pump housing.
Notice the burnt spot on the left of the board, I think it's fried.

Yes I did buy it for that much. I went to the parts store and got the right fuel line. And got enough to replace the peace I have on the afpr. Don't want that one to blow either.
