I checked asian kid's base timing this weekend when tuning his car. His base timing was at 16 degrees or so. I just wonder how many more of those are out there.

Wow! blink.gif Was this with the timing pin grounded?

I've found a few with high base timing. Most of the time I've found people running less than 5 degrees base timing. Turning the timing up to 5 degrees is then like finding another couple of psi out of no where.

That high of timing may explain all the lava coming out of Asiankids tail pipe after he races. rolleyes.gif

He's got a miss in it so it didn't want to stay constant with the pin grounded. The plugs all looked good and the wires are new. Next thing would be the coil packs and a good ground on the head. To finally set it, I just made it the 10-12 the logger was saying it was on. To start he was running around 20 degrees at idle.

As much power as you can get from kicking the base timing up a degree or three, kicking it up ten degrees causes major headaches. He had it tuned WAY rich just to keep the knock down.

The low is the easy one. You should be able to get that one to stick in the 90-120 range. The other two are about impossible with that translator. I got it to where the O2 trim was good and you were cycling which is all that really matters. Check and see if your O2s are cycling. If they are, call it good for now.
