I dont see and issue here.
The galant vr4 4, Eclipse GSX, and 3000gt VR4 were all made the same year... If anything I think it would rekindly mitsu's wayward business...
That and if they would be so stringent on warranty work.
galant VR4 = 4 door sedan, AWD, AWS, 4G63t
Eclipse GSX = 2 door coupe, AWD, 4G63t
3000GT VR4 = 2 door coupe, AWD, AWS, TT
all three had different benefits to offer to the market... for a different price
new Eclipse GSX = 4G63t, AWD
Lancer evolution = 4G63t, AWD
two cars with the exact same platform, different styling, and most likely different prices..... the more expensive of the two won't sell, thats all I am trying to say.
if they sold both cars side by side and priced them identically, they would both sell.
Eclipse GSX concept = 2 door coupe, AWD, 4g63t
Lancer Evolution = 4 door sedan, AWD, 4g63t
Similar drivetrains and engines sure, but that does not mean the same platform. The Evo is based on the Lancer chassis, while the Eclipse is based off the Eclipse chassis. Lancer is a 4 door sedan, Eclipse is a 2 door sports coupe. Two different platforms. Subaru does it with the Impreza, Outback, Legacy, and Baha. Same engine, same drivetrain, different platform, different prices.
