Well I pulled my front mount off yesterday after locating my boost leak there Sunday. I am simply amazed! The rear plate on the passenger side tank of the FMIC popped outward about 1/2". Splitting about 4" of weld on the bottom outside edge with a 3/8" gap. From the bulge there was also a split in the weld where the rear plate meets the core...about 2.5" long.

This happend with the boost set at 20 psi! WTF!!! That's just unheard of isn't it?

Well, either way I'm dropping it off to Eric Vicary tonight. He said he can have it repaired in a day or two with the aluminum TIG. we need someone with a digital camera to get a picture of this though!

Sounds ridiculous! That was a Victory IC wasn't it? Either way, regardless of the brand, I've never seen an IC break the welds.

How are the welds on your floorboards? Perhaps you ran too much nawz...

Better check the welds on your cast aluminum intake manifold!

I can not bad mouth Victory Performance. Ther are a lot more positives than negatives with this unit.

I bought this from another DSM owner - unused.

When I didn't get all the piping Scott at Victory said they would send me parts to finish it - free of shipping.

This front mount Mounted right up to existing threaded holes. The bumper cover did not need cut and the bumper it's self only needed minor trimming (The license bracket is still in the stock location).

After this blow-out issue I called Scott at Victory to verify my application was a good fit for his street FMIC. He said it was perfect for what I needed and if I have any more problems after it is repaired to send it to hem and he will fix it or replace it even though I didn't buy it from him!

You can't beat that in my book. This is VERY wierd though.

Just as clarification, there was no "bashing" intended, I was just trying to remember where it came from. Mass kudos to the boys at Victory for being there for their customers. Sounds like a stand-up bunch.
