Hey, guys. Some of you may have read about my recent plight. I'm the guy who got his Talon stolen twice while in grad school in San Diego. Anyway, I'm back in Nebraska working on her, and I'm getting close to having her back on the road. Problem is, there are a few more mechanical things that I need before I can drive her again. Here's what I need:
Downpipe (the one between the catalytic converter and the turbo)
Throttle body
My car is a 1991 FWD TSi Turbo, which makes a difference for both parts. The throttle body is the kind that has the four vacuum line tubes right next to each other on the top of the body.
Anyway, I'm looking for a killer deal, so drop me a line and let me know what you got and what you want out of it. Feel free to include as much info as you can, like if the part is original and how long that part's been on the car. If it's original, how many miles have been driven with that on there.
The best way to reach me is to drop me an email at jhieb1@hotmail.com. You can send me a private message through this site, but I'll get the direct email a lot quicker. Oh, and I'll be in the market for a few little things soon enough, so keep your ears posted.
Thanks
Jon

aren't you the guy budman claimed took a bunch of stuff out of his car that he didn't want to part with?

congratulations. you've been suspended for 24 hrs for those comments and your original post has been edited for content by myself. I suggest you take the time to adjust your attitude. After that, feel free to take it up in pm's with budman.

Okay, now what I'm no longer extremely irate that someone had the audacity to basically call me a thief and/or a liar in not so many words, please allow me to calmly defend myself. Believe me, I would've liked to have settled this strictly between Bud and myself, but he took it upon himself to air dirty laundry on this site long before I ever even knew he was pissed. So, I issued a rebuttal to his accusations. Please read it here:
http://www.dsmcentral.com/invision/index.p...=15entry32457My post is a little ways down the page. Apparently there was a bit of a misunderstanding here. I never lied to Bud, and I sure as hell never ripped him off. And I really don't appreciate him turning to the internet to smear my good name. For God's sake, I've just become a victim of Grand Theft Auto. Do you think that I'd honestly do anything like that to someone else? There is no way in hell I'd wish even a fraction of what I've felt and gone through on anyone else.
So, that's all I've got to say. If Bud wants to talk to me about it, we'll talk. If not, we won't and we probably won't ever hear from each other again. Either way, he has no right to submarine me and make me out to be some untrustworthy jerk-off. If you think I'm full of b.s. and don't want to do business with me, that's your prerogative. It'll be your loss anyway. I'll eventually find what I'm after. It's just that someone else will get my money.

You didn't much. I'd gotten a little hot-headed yesterday and told the people who'd posted on this thread to piss off. I told them that they didn't know what the hell was going on and to keep their noses out of it. Someone didn't like that and changed my message. So, I just deleted what they'd written, because it wasn't my words.
Thanks for reading. It sucks that this turned into a soap opera. I really hate drama.

akamiami and myself didn't say anything intially that would be considered slander....we were basically both just suggesting that you clear up the situation. Bud put out some comments, it was in your best interest to get your side out in the open.
I meant no harm in my comments and I apoligise if you took it that way....on the other hand I don't deserve to be told to "piss off".
Anyway, welcome to the board and glad to hear everything is cleared up.

You're right, and I apologize. I got defensive. I've always been a guy who prides himself on his word and his honor. Got that from my mom and from the Marine Corps. Anytime I feel like my integrity is questioned, I get upset. Hell, I've even gone to fisticuffs over it.
Anyway, thanks for understanding. I hope Bud and I can clear it up. If not, neither of us is really worse for the wear. Maybe a little hurt feelings, but neither or us came out behind in the situation.

I might be. Depends first on the condition and second on your price. Drop me a line and let me know what you've got and what you want at jhieb1@hotmail.com. If you could snap some pics, that'd be great.

as far as the condition goes... it is stock DP from 1992. the flex pipe is in good shape and there are no cracks in it, not sure what else you are looking for. the cat is still attached to it as well. i don't know what they go for... $50?

I'm interested, but I'm going to check the salvage yards first. Not for a better deal or anything. I just don't want to wait to have it shipped if I don't have to. I doubt I'll find anything, though. I'll definitely let you know.
Any chance you could send some pics in the mean time? I'd prefer off the car, but if it's on there, don't worry about it. Just snap some of that if you could.
Thanks again for replying, though.

Okay, guys. I got a throttle body a few weeks ago, and I ended up finding a downpipe in town yesterday. So, it looks like I'm out of the market. To all who contacted me, I say thanks, and I'm sorry we couldn't do business. Maybe sometime in the future.
Thanks
Jon
