I know that the six bolt motor is better than the seven but Im not quite sure why. So if anyone can help me out that would be great. I am trying to get ahold of someone to buy there dsm. His member name is Intense Reality. If anyone knows him and has his number so I can get ahold of him, that would be great.

Thanks
Travis

The biggest reason the 6-bolt is better than the 7-bolt:

I'm sure Nate know this but that link is comparing two 7-bolts, one from a 93 and one from a 95. Their theory is that the 2g 7-bolts have internal changes that make them prone to crankwalk.

A 1G 7 bolt is perfectly fine. the even have a 6oz lighter rotating mass. They are not prone to crankwalk but the rods are smaller. but theyve still been proven to handle around 375whp.

I wouldn't say they're perfectly fine... I've seen at least two walk. Personally I think they're just as bad as the 2g's.

This is absolutely incorrect. Search around on talk and tooners. You'll see that 1G 7-bolts are just as likely to walk as 2G 7-bolts. There have been many instances in both cases. Both may not walk for the same reasons as the magnus article alludes to, but they are both very capable of walking.

I agree with rob and nate. Look at the top posters list, they're there for a reason. A 7 bolt motor is prone, period. I've seen 2 1g 7 bolts that walked personally.
