the other day me and scorp28 were messing with the wife's car and a logger, well sitting still I reved up to 6800 and scorp noticed the I was boosting 13psi on my autometer gauge blink.gif is that possible???

Wow! That's a alotta boost with no load on the engine. Don't know if its possible or not. Do you trust your guage?
turbohcar
Is it an old one or a new one? Chances are if it's an older one the spring inside isn't as strong as it used to be and isn't giving a solid reading. There are threads about this on Tuners.
fastclipse82
do you hear the turbo spool hard? Its probably the gauge
asiankid91
yea that boost gauge was acting funny that one day at work
mitsu90
yeah I forgot about that Adam. I will change it out with the one I got in the A/T talon and see what that one reads.

spy, what is a 2 step???? blink.gif
asiankid91
i believe its something that sounds like a rev limter but it builds BOOST

like a studder box??

A 2 step (or stutter box) is just a second (lower) rev limiter for launching.
mitsu90
then there is not one unless it is set over 7500k I have yet to hit the rev limit in this car.
99Spyder
Typically a two step rev limiter will be triggered off of the clutch. With the clutch in your rev limit may be 5500rpms. With the clutch out it would be the stock rev limit or in your case perhaps non-existant.

As far as the initial topic of this thread I don't think that a 2 step/stutter box setup would affect the amount of boost being created.

You'd know if you had a two step, because you'd have to run a separate wire from the clutch switch to the ECU for it. Like Spyder said, even with one, I find it hard to believe you could make 13 pounds with no load on the engine, unless you also had some kind of antilag programmed into the ECU as well. blink.gif
