what dose it mean when u rev your car wile the clutch is in and in gear and it jumps on u and moves. I almost hit a car the other day because of it
BudmannG
That's what mine did at the track on SCDC. I was going to try a extender rod, but I don't know if that will stop it.
black92_tsi_awd
Does the clutch engage right off the floor?

If it does you need to adjust the linkage.
asiankid91
i do have a bigger push rod on it but the clutch comes out half way. its a 6 pud xtd ebay clutch its strong
BudmannG
Might be a warped flywheel also.

May need to weld your clutch assembly.

or maybe the master cylinder/slave cylinder is bleeding some pressure off when you have it pushed in, re-engaging the clutch?

Wouldnt a warped flywheel make the engine vibrate, or atleast clutch chatter on engagement
turbohcar
Chatter would be a big issue if it was that badly warped I would think. I would venture to say try the route I took. Try a new slave cylinder first, master cylinder next, then if those two don't fix it, you're going to have to get the clutch pedal welded.

Bingo
BudmannG
Explain clutch chatter please. is it like a steady tick?
Sorry Adam I'm not trying to highjack your thread.

I also have a bad grinding in 3, 4, & 5. And it only ticks while under pressure.
turbohcar
Ticking??? No. No ticking, I'd say you've got drivetrain problems elsewhere. You might have clutch adjustment issues though due to the fact you've got 3, 4, and 5 grinding bad on you. Mine only grinds when I don't push the clutch in all the way to the floor or if I don't go from 2 - 1 when I downshift to take off in first. Course though mine needs a rebuild as well.

Mine grinds while I'm driving, not while I shift. Well... it just started grinding going into 2nd this week. And it won't down shift into 4th from 5th.

Well regardless, you need to get somebody to look at it. Whatever it is, it isn't good.

Once again Asiankid I'm sorry about hacking your thread, I'm done now. I figure I have some gears loose in the tranny after I read the vfaq about 5th gear movement. I come to the conclusion of rebuiltding it or buying another one. Thanks for the help.

Look up that vfaq and tell me that don't make sense.

It can also mean loose flywheel bolts. I suffered this once.

thanks guys for the help

Hey man let me know what you find. I parked mine for the winter. I can't sink any money into it until income taxes, Request from my girl.

Either way

If you are getting pre-mature clutch engagement as well as a bad grind, it seems like the clutch is never fully disengaging.....i'd check what everyone's suggested so far
awd4kicks
If you are only getting movement at the very top of your RPM it is not that abnormal. My car has done that ever since I can remember and the more power it has made the more obvious it is.

Even when the clutch pedal is pushed in there is very little if any air between the flywheel/pressure plate and the disk surface. An engine turning upwards of 7K will make enough friction and heat at the clutch disk contact surface to start engagement.

Odd that you guys have that problem. I launch the evo at 6000+ rpms and the 300Z at 7000+rpms and never have an issue with it wanting to leave prematurely.........
awd4kicks
Oh I don't have a problem with it. Mine pretty much only does it at the rev limiter and...well it's never caused me any ill effects even launching on the limiter.
mitsu90
the galant did it once, scared the crap out of me as I was sitting with the door open. ohmy.gif
