Where is a good place to buy new faces for my gauges? I would like something different than white, but if that's all I can get I will deal with it.
turbohcar
Try www.procarparts.com. I think the only other option other than white is silver though.
SCCA Stang

parts I have so far bought on ebay for this car:

white face guages
brushed aluminum guage bezel
billet alum. spark plug cover
dejon tool turbo outlet elbow
HKS turbo timer
ported 2G O2 housing
conical air filter
carbon fiber taillights
rear strut tower brace
a lot of my autometer guages

I know that my wife hates my car ebay spending habits....
for my Dakota R/T I bought a lot of shit there too

BTW.... the install was easy in someways, but tricky in others.... if you need help, let me know and we can possably get together....

if you want to do the brushed alum bezel... it would be a good idea to do it while you are in there.

Yeah my g/f hates the ebay! laugh.gif 90% of my parts came from ebay also.

Hey man thank you!!!!! That helped alot, If any of you want different gauge faces check out this site. They do have almost every color under the sun plus c/f.

Thanks again Hult, I just ordered my gauge faces from them plus the hvac face. I got it all for under $50.00 shipped. biggthumpup.gif biggthumpup.gif biggthumpup.gif

Drive the car around to get it up to temp and remember where the temp needle falls and where all the other needles are before you take the cluster apart.
Youll have to remove the needles and you have to remember to put them back on in the right place.
The tach and speedo are no big deal, you put them back on at zero but youll have to remember where the others are at.

And make sure you clean the faces very well before you put the overlay on.

I believe the Procarparts gauges you do not have to take the needles off. Some of these overlays slip over the needles so you don't have to. I had problems when I took the needles off when I tried on my last cluster. The tach wouldn't work after doing it and it's hard to get the accuracy of the needles right on so, installer beware!

I got mine from ebay.

Here are some pics of them on my old TSi. I put the same ones in my GSX but I just don't have any pics. I think they are really nice and clean.

there was a guy on dsm talk that too the stock gauges, sanded off the orange paint on the backside and then got el sheets and cut them to fit. he did a write up on it. they look awesome. i will try to find the link
scrapin_frame
here is the link to his site. http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~lgj24/index_p...ects_gauges.htm
he has since sold his eclipse but was awesome enough to leave up his how-to. i think it is by far the cleanest looking gauges you can do on a dsm... of course i am more into black face gauges than white.
he offered me the one he made for the hvac controls.. i will prly pick it up, but then i need to do the one for the gauges.. dunno if i am quite smart enough to do it though.. so if anyone wants to start making these, i would definitely pick one up..
dstock22
Yea I would take those over anything. I remember reading that write up when I was looking for some new gauges but I knew that I would totally f that up.
scrapin_frame
exactly... even with a write up that seems fairly simple, i knew if anyone could screw it up, it would be me

This place here has different styles of face plates. And might be able to do a custom design.
