I just got back from the mechanics, where he and I proceeded to try and do a Shifter movement fix on my tranny.
Well we got it apart and started to loosen the bottom nut, and notice that the shaft was real loose. He tighten it to 110 foot pound and could still grab the shaft and move it up and down, and in and out. NOT GOOD mad.gif ! This has obviously been this way from day one, when I got the tranny. I bought this motor and tranny as a set. now a year later I have to put another tranny in, BS!
I just figured I would vent a little bit about this. So now my priorities have to change one more time. I think I am going to need a tranny.

Just so you know the movement is a good 1/2 inch either way. But it still drives fine, just grinds while I'm driving down the road. And before you ask, Yes it is a noticeable grind. If someone has experience on here rebuilding, I have a different tranny case that all my parts could go in. I just don't have the time, tools, or know how.

Sorry Jerm18, I guess this means you won't want to trade now. But if you still do let me know.

What year is your car? I've got a couple spare 90 awd trannies laying around I'd like to get rid of, sounds like they're porobably better off than what you've got. PM if you're interested.

Here is a pick of the shaving we found. I forgot to take a pick of the oil that came out. But it looked like liquid silver, LOL.

ohmy.gif If the damage is bad enough, you might need more than just synchros.

The innerds of this tranny I do beleive are fine. I have no problem of shifting as of right now. And all the silver is from the tranny casing. The bottom gear shaft is wallerd out. That is where I get my grind while driving. Does not grind during shifts. The shaft that is wallerd out holds 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

I found my other caseing for my transmission. I was looking at it and there is a race and bearing behind the second plate. I think that either or is bad.
Man am I glad I'm a packrat.
I don't know when I will get around to fixing it, But at least I know what it is.
