Looking for the piece of duct work that replaces the evaporator in a non-A/C 1gen. The compressor is already gone, so I'm looking to get rid of some more weight. Let me know if you've got one.

Let me check... I *might* have one... doubt it, but I'll look.

I didn't know there was a difference in that ducting A/C vs. non A/C. I took the evaporator out of mine and it looks fine to me. The ducting runs up to the radiator core support, then right into radiator without any gaps.

Brett, I don't think you're thinking of the right part. In a baseline car, instead of the AC evaporatior in the cab, there is just a blank duct. That's the piece I want. There's a good picture of it in the Haynes manual.

Ahhh ok so it's a piece of the HVAC ducting on the inside of the car. I see now. I was thinking the air dam ducting between the bumper and radiator core support.
What do you need the blank for?

I guess I just figured that it's there for a good reason.

Actually I believe the blower motor shoots into the evaporator/blank duct first, and then to the heater core, and then to your freezing friend that can't feel his legs.

Ahhh ok, good reason. I was asking cause I just took mine out this fall, but my blower motor isn't working all together. I'm thinking it has to do with the relay next to the motor housing that's missing all togther.

Could be. Try hotwiring the motor to the batter and see if it spins. If not, there's an ohm test that you can to on the console switch.

I already tested the motor, it's good. I haven't seen the vfaq for the ohm test. Where did you see it?

Here's a little help buddy:
http://www.car-part.com/I searched for a heater/AC control unit for a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I would try looking for one out of a 1.8L since they are more likely to have the least amount of options. You look for the heater/AC control unit because nobody is going to list a stupid nonAC blower box for one of those things, they'd rather throw them out. That, and the heater/AC control unit is going to differ if it doesn't have AC, giving you the ability to find a car without AC easier. So, find someplace that has one here locally, give them a call at the number listed and tell them that you found them on Car-Part.com and what you need.
A few reccomendations if you see them listed:
LKQ
Bill Smith Auto Parts - Tony
Rhodes Auto S/S/S - Tim
I-55 Auto Salvage
Auto Acres
Shelby & Sons
I've already called Arkansas All Mitsubishi and they said they threw everything 94 and older out already so they won't work. Good luck,

Yeah........ screw all that noise. I'm going to get some tekfoil and make my own, lighter ducting. It's nothing all that important.
