Okay, try to stay with me on this one. I have no intention of even trying this, but I was just curious if it were possible. Would someone be able to relocate the AC evaporator (or any evaporator)and use it as a secondary stage of intercooling? You know, use it just like it would be in the cab with the refrigerant runnig through it. It seems like you could if it were able to be sealed, and it may provide a decent amount of intake charge cooling. I don't know how much that would cut flow down, though.

Like I said, just a crazy thought.

The Ford Lightning actually uses an aftercooling technique similar to this.

As far as total extra power output in the end though, you'd have to weight the pumping losses for turning the AC compressor against power gained through the extra cool intake charge.

Yeah, I had thought about that, too. There's no free lunch, and I agree with you on cost/benefit ratios. I don't think the small amount of horse added will be worth spinning the compressor or the extra weight of leaving the AC in to begin with.
